It will be interesting to see how well Haye can fight with the added weight of those two commentators' heads up his arse.
As I posted in another thread, I am seriously wondering who is the Top 10 fighter he is going to fight, since all the Top 10 are already scheduled to fight this fall.
or so he says.... kinda like James Toney... but when it actually comes to signing a contract, something comes up...
How can you say that when no fight has been announced yet? All we've been getting is a steady stream of gossip and vague rumour about him fighting this guy or that guy...hardly Haye pulling out of fights left right and centre is it? Off the top of my head, and let me know if any of these guys have fights set...Dimitrenko, Arreola, Maskaev, Rahman/Toney winner, Golota, Meehan, Bidenko, Kevin Johnson, Liakhovich, Ibragimov, Chambers and Travis Walker all hold Top Ten rankings with one or more boxing orgs and don't have any fights officially contracted yet (or in Maskaev's case, can easily be switched).
But he is David Haye. Who has he ducked? At cruiser he would fight anyone and I doubt that that will change any time soon. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it
Oh, James Toney didn't pull out of fighting Klitschko either... he just trashtalked about fighting him and ended up fighting someone else. Talking about fighting someone and actually fighting that person are two different things. I just find too many similarities between behaviors of Toney and Haye. I can't wait to see what "top 10 HW" he's going to fight...
Let's see how that particular cookie crumbles first...if he fights someone like, I dunno...JD Chapman and tries to talk it up like something big we'll all have plenty of opportunity to call him out on it. ...you know, damn, I just checked up and JD Chapman is the WBO #7 and WBA #9. Who the hell puts these lists together sometimes? It's like the first five or so are solid then the rest are just random names pulled out of a hat... Okay, well, alright. Let's say Sinan Samil Sam then, because bless 'im he's always there or thereabouts but no-one is mistaking him for one of the elite.
Did he say he was 233 right now?!? That seems too high to me, especially considering he fought his preliminary heavyweight fight at 217.
Haye and the British media seem to think he already has the fight in the bag. Sad considering he wont even make it far enough to get at Klitschko unless he and his promoter take a very carefully crafted path...which seems to be what they are doing by targeting Maskaev.
Maskaev is scheduled to fight Hawkins in the fall, so no Maskaev for Haye. Oleg would be foolish to fight Haye anyway, as his skills have noticeably diminished.
