you people read in to this **** too much. firstly haye slagging klit and everybody else is called promotion. its what boxers do.
and as for what he is talking about, when he is not trying to promote himself he talks a lot of sense.
he wont lose to barrett he is just saying if he did there is no point chasing klit.
    which is a fair comment.
if you people cant see his comments for what they are instead of twisting it in to haye is scarred or some bull**** like that. i suggest you go back to school you ill educated ******s.

He's not saying he can't beat Barrett, he's saying IF he can't....is it so hard to understand?

Haye said the same type of things before his last fight as well.....it's just something he does.

Most of his interviews before this HW adventure were in this vein (although not the retiral part), don't read too much into it.

I've got Haye as favourite, but who really knows? It's his first real fight at HW.

Sorry, am I missing something here...?

Because this seems pretty reasonable actually. If Haye can't beat Barrett, then he's not going to beat the better guys so retirement wouldn't seem so wild an option. He doesn't want to be a gatekeeper himself.

Monte Barrett is 37 years old and was knocked out last year by middle aged Tyson impersonator Cliff Couser. Barrett is not a big puncher and is the same height & weight as Haye.

Haye talking about retirement if he loses or how he will be KO'd if hit clean by Barrett is just his way of trying to sell this fight to the public. When he knows he is just fighting an over the hill "name" opponent with a questionable chin.

Haye changes his tone to suit his needs. The more "modest & realistic" version isn't anymore represenative of the "real" Haye than the trash talker who said that all the heavyweights are fat bums.
