Yes, but the fact that people (even mainstream) talk about him is good fo the dvivision. His fight against Ruiz was more exciting than any of Wlad's fights since the Peter fight 5 years ago.

Wlad wants what David has, which is another belt and an exciting fight. Wlad must realize it's going to cost him, pay up or shut the **** up and go back to fighting lame ass heavywieghts on shitty internet streams.

Don't particularly remember him saying it. Who was the other one apart from Bonin then? Wasn't Delaney who was a career cruiserweight (at the 190 CW limit) and had weighed in at 188lbs for a title fight less than 12 months before fighting Haye. Semiskur not really good enough to need a weight division, but also seemed to mainly be fighting CWs around the CW weight.

True, but that was more because of Ruiz' just walking in and blocking with his head tactic then it said anything about Haye. I saw a strange resemblance with Arreola vs Vitali, without the punching power.

Well, Haye himself said that Monte Barrett would be his 3rd fight at HW, so if we add up he has 5 HW fights under his belt by now. Not six as I thought earlier, but 5.

I watched the Haye vs. Ruiz fight on an internet stream that looked like a poorly shot Osama Bin Ladin Video....

That's not true. Haye fans would have cheered and claimed that Haye was the greatest thing since sliced bread if he had beatn Byrd, Brock, or Austin in the manner than he did. It was really the Iggy fight that damaged his reputation...possible for good. Other than that, he is 7 of 8 in title defenses. Haye has an awful lot of work to do to catch up to that. And he really need to fight a young heavy that can punch for god's sake. No more old men on the verge of retirement.

all fighters say that. Hearns wanted to retire about 1985 when he was interviewed in 1981. His last fight was 2006.

Wlad's last exciting fight was Peter in 05. The time he showed killer instinct was against Austin in early 07, no great feat. Haye brings excitement and a personality, things that doesn't show these days. His video was almost laughable, where's the guys charisma? No wonder why america stopped watching him fight.

    Disagree.

Following his career it's obvious he's slower all round at HW compared to CW. He's still ad******g to the weight, that's obvious to anyone who's followed Hayes career.

Even Holyfield had 6 fights over 2 years at HW before fighting for the title, and another two years on top of that before fighting one of the most dangerous HW's in the division Bowe.

People are just too damn impatient.

Charisma? Are they supposed to be actors? They're fighters, fool....If a guy can show a little wit and charisma, great...it's an added bonus. But he'd better be a great fighter first. Haye isn't. Really, did we penalize Sonny Liston or Larry Holmes or young George Foreman for not being charismatic? Clearly, you are applying a double standard here.

He should probably lay off the steroids and weightlifting.
