Good news for Haye. He needed a good stateside promoter. Glad he has not gone with Warren. I could not stand it if all the Warren haters suddenly turned against Haye, at least now he will keep his support.
I think Warren got the message when Haye basically said that he wouldn't fight Enzo unless the bout was no strings attached, and Warren reluctantly agreed, and as I understand, made Haye an offer after the fight anyway. He needed to get a Stateside promoter, as Warren would just start the whole domestic merry go round again - and as the new 'face' of British boxing, Haye needs more than just being a cash cow.
Heavyweight wise, Haye's better fighting In Europe than America unless It's Peter who holds a belt or something so not sure If Golden boy would be a good Idea.
Ridiclious comment, Haye needs stateside exposure and Goldenboy will get him that. Guarentee his enxt fight will be on HBO.
Stateside when America's Heavyweight division Is weak? Europes Heavyweight division Is stronger at the moment and he might have to fight In europe alot more. Not everyone needs Golden boy to be on HBO.
if you're aiming to become popular with american boxing fans then signing with GBP is always a good start. do you think he should have signed to one of the german promoters instead?
Nothing really surpising here, I wrote the following post on April the 15th: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58685&page=3 ,,I don't know whether this is posted here before, but according to my mate who was at the ABA's, Adam Booth told several people that he will go the States shortly to negotiate a deal with Golden Boy promotions."
is there a precedent? i won't be mean and use audley harrison as an example of failure, but have we ever had a british free agent who's managed to make it on the world scene?
