If Haye does close to a million in these economic times. Thats a great achievement and the guy didnt even have 24/7 show
I'd actually say that in these times you are more likely to get improved buys. More people will choose to stay at home rather than travel to the fight, and others will order the fight and invite friends round..... get the beer and grub in, costs everyone £10-15 max, rather than going on the **** and spending £50 each.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...day-for-Britains-World-Heavyweight-Champ.html Hayes £20 million pound richer!!!!!!!!! Thats loads of money for Haye...... fair play to him
Well, The Sun's article says that's what he's planning to make, not what he actually HAS made. But £5m for Saturday's fight is excellent. He's approaching Hatton levels in media savvy.
Yeah I think your right but the people who usually attend these type of high profile fight s I feel are immune (maybe to strong a word) to econimc times. I mean the stadium was completely sold out and I think there was a backlist of people who got rejected.
He also gets a cut of the commercial rate from things such as pubs. The pub round the corner from me was showing it so if he got around 900,000+ + the commercial cut that should take him close to the 7mill mark.....Hahaha I still dont see where the Sun got its 20million from but this is the SUN....nothing suprised me when it comes to that newspaper. Maybe there taking into account future contract negotations :huh But im guessing that someone jus picked the number out of the hat.
Add to that.......in a waterdown divisions (118 to 154) where he was just as big if not bigger than his man. Haye had to fight someone 7 stone heavier......lets see Khan fight an average middle/super middle in Miranda........only 28 pounds or so....
Some I can blame...some have not put in the years needed to succeed at the top level. Others don't deserve as much blame, they're just working with limited tools. There's a dearth of amateur experience with so many guys.
Hattton was a world champion without a doubt BUT after that he did cherry pick certain fighters etc...when he had the clout to fight whoever he wanted simply becuase of his own drawing power. Hatton was a decent world champion, average in the grand scheme of things - D. Haye has accomplished the same as Hatton now, if not more. Only Lennox Lewis, Naz Hamed and Joe Calzaghe have achieved more in the last 20 years. If Haye can go onto defeat both Klits...then he sits with Lennox as the two best fighters to come from the UK. I doubt that will happen, i can see him beating one of the Klits....in fact i think he will beat Vitali but Vladimir might have to many things going for him.......size plus skills. Mind you, need to see How Haye fights J. Ruiz who has in this era proved to be one of the better top 10 heavies.....an incredible result against him....shows Haye is bringing a new level to the division....if he labours and wins then a change of analysis might be required. I saw Haye against Solis, and make his debut on the BBC.....said from day one he will be a champion......proving it now.
