It didn't happen because he was scarred. It will not happen because he still is.

Says he wanted 50/50 on everything, they said no so he said they can keep German money, he keeps UK money then 50/50 on everything else they said no.

Then I'm sure he said at the end he's the money man in the division! Err nope!

Sounds like Harrison is still in the running or Haye would have nixed that rumour while he was at it.

I'd like to believe him, but the fact he has pulled out of fights with Vitali and Wladimir before makes me seriously, seriously doubt him.

The TV issues may be true, but if he *really* wanted to fight one of them, he would have done so by now. Haye has no 'legacy' at Heavyweight until he fights one of the Klits, and as Max Kellermann said last year-which I disagreed with at the time but now seems apt-he is 'merely a belt holder.'

I hope he fights Adamek, who to me is the only acceptable alternative out there-and that should just be a stop gap until he ftakes on one of the brothers. A fight with Audley would be a disgrace and a kick in the bollocks to every boxing fan out there.

Theres a few others like Chag or Povetkin who would also be acceptable, if dull on paper, fights.

With Germany having no PPV boxing how much can the difference be inbetween what Wlads station is paying and what the fight could get on the "open market" in Germany?

So he's really going for the German TV stations line, seems fairly weak.

If you go by what Teddy Atlas says on ESPN, it seems Povetkin is a long way from being ready for a world title fight. I think he would be an acceptable opponent, but on the basis that it is unlikely to happen I didn't include him.

Chagaev is a fair point but hasn't fought loads recently, and his stock has dropped considerably after being dominated by Wlad last summer.

after he promised so much he has delivered very little. a fight with adamek would be good but i also fear he'd have to knock him out or he may get outworked by the sharp shooting pole

If you spell things correctly, they'll say what you meant them to. Which was bollocks anyway.

He is as far as US and UK money is concerned. Probably France too.

He pulled out against Wlad for good reasons. He never agreed to fight Vitali, so that's not really the issue. He just went another way for the more attractive option.

Did he specify why they said 50-50 on everything in their press releases? What was the offer?

That may be true but the same could be said about the Klitschkos.

Yes, he is merely a beltholder. But it is the only belt the Klits dont have and he is the only fighter whos name will have a real positive impact on the bros resumes at the moment.

Really? I thought the Vitali fight last September was all agreed, and he just pulled out to take on Valuev instead. I think you can make fair excuses all the way for him not fighting them before now, but they are fast running out.

    1. He pulls out of the Wlad fight last June-Fair enough, he wouldn't have made any money with Setanta going under.

    2. He doesn't fight Vitali last September-Fair enough, the options were crap and the alternative was more marketable to the casual public and an easier fight.

    3. He fights Valuev-OK, it gets him a belt and makes him well known in the UK. He's in a position to get more money out of a Klitschko fight.

    4. He fights Ruiz-Fine, he's the mandatory. Now he's free for a unification fight.

    5. ??? Fast running out of alternatives, reasons, and excuses to fight one of them, and he is the one coming out of this looking bad. He could get away with fighting an Adamek or Povetkin but after that he has nowhere to go unless he takes them on.

I think he is running out of alternatives but so are the Klitschkos i think Hay eknows that Briggs and Peter is really scraping the barrel. The only other heavyweight who either could claim as a legitimate defence is Adamek who wont be able to deal with their size.

If Haye fights Adamek next he eliminates that option for the klits and proves himself as the real deal whilst probably establishing himself in America a little better if it were to be shown on HBO.

Povetkin is shying from the fight Solis isnt ready yet Tua's comeback has been exposed. If Haye fights Adamek and wins in nov-dec i can see the Klitschko fight happening in May 2011 50-50 with the HBO money.

Of course this plan all falls to pot if he fights Audley.........
