Haye speaks on why Klitschko fight didnt happen

I really don't think the details of the deal even come into it, maybe there are a few problems but mostly its likely a smokescreen. Haye just doesn't want the fight now. Theres a difference between not wanting a fight and being scared of somebody too.

Haye knows if he loses against Klitschko his career is virtually over because he'll have very little credibility and he's the type that would struggle for motivation to rebuild his career. So he's going to want to do whatver he wants in boxing, including padding out his bank account for a few fights, until he's finally ready to cap it all off against Klitschko. No matter what anybody says that fight will always be on the table.

 

if he doesn't fight K2 then it has to be Chagaev.

 

I know Haye hurt you, Rob, by (to use Gaz’s wonderful phrase) not being the samurai/jedi knight you’d hoped for, but for everyone sensible it just doesn’t matter.

I’m a fan of the sport and I could give a **** about why things DON’T happen. The politics are a distraction. All that matters is what actually happens in the ring.

Life is too short to waste on who’s getting what share, what the purse is worth, where it’ll be held (unless I’m going ), what terms were agreed, etc.,

I just watch the fights, think about how guys match up against each other, and enjoy the chat on this forum when it’s about the boxing.

Don't bring that bull**** round me. You argued not even a month ago for boxing to be MORE of a niche sport, you little elitist.

I’m as ****ing passionate about this sport as anyone on here. I’ve been devastated when a favourite fighter loses (I couldn’t sleep after Cotto’s two losses) and I’ve been disappointed when a good fight doesn’t come off. But I’m also not five years old, so don’t feel the need to obsess the way you seem to.

Being passionate doesn’t mean having a tantrum when things aren’t the way you want them to be. And no fight is bigger than boxing itself. It’s telling that the fights everyone’s angling for are near guaranteed to be utter snooze-fests. Mayweather is the definition of easy to admire but hard to like and Wlad couldn’t put on a show if he had a top had and dancing troupe in the ring with him.

I come on this site because a few guys, like Gaz, Slip, Madanda, TFFP, Fleaman, Icemax and others, write interesting stuff about the sport. They know their ****, can break down fights and seem to enjoy them for what they are: good fights and bad fights.

So chill out and stop wetting yourself over Haye. You’re disappointed in him. We get it. Move on.

 

I think though thats what its all about when you get rich.

I dont know for sure - because I am not rich.

But when Haye was fighting in the Crusierweights - he would make money - but he was by no means a millionaire.

But I think - when you get a few million in the bank - and life is alot more comfortable - it makes more of a **** of you.

Its just about then - his house is bigger than mine - I want to buy a bigger one.

His car is faster than mine - I'm gonna buy a even faster one.

In Hayes case - Klitschkos is getting this much - I want this much.

Now Haye is moving in higher social circles - he sees Stevie G's £4 millon gaffe - and realises it is bigger and better than his £1 million Cyprus villa - so he wants a big payday to get a house even bigger than Gerrards and with a Swimming pool and Crazy Golf Course and Tennis Court in the back garden - cos Gerrad has only got a swimming pool.

I wholeheartedly agree with this but I've got **** all to do today so I'm indulging in this futile debate.

 

The only way Haye will be forgiven by the fans this siade of the world is if he fights Adamek.

 

Thats just because these days he is being faced with similar choices that Hatton and Calzaghe had and is having to make the same sort of decisions they had to?

Anyone who expected anything radically different was being extremely naive.

 

Yep I guess its easy to go to France and take a seemingly big risk when very few people give a **** about you and your division.

Haye's built his worth in boxing, to the point where he can take home millions for a fight. Suddenly the liability he takes into each and every fight is a lot more than Win or Loss. He's not got the type of loyal fanbase Hatton had to fall back on either, its mostly been built up on the back of success as a world champion.

 

100% agree with that. We will have to wait awhile before we see the fight we want
