Haye still remains 1 of the only 2 men that stopped Ruiz ever

Ruiz had not outright won an important fight in years.

I read one article that said

"Haye came to the ring looking like a bodybuilder and ruiz looked like a builder"

Ruiz biggest mistake was changing tactics before the fight. He tried being more fan friendly and abandoned his huggy bear tactics. if he would have stuck to Haye like he usually does, he wouldn't have taken so many big hits and might have worn Haye down even more.

You always bring what brought you to the dance. Ruiz didn't.

Ruiz may have been old but how many people would you actually pick over him at that stage? Haye and the Klitschko's, absolutely. However, beyond that, there's not one clear opponent who would beat him I don't think. Adamek would have the best shot but he's not looked great against old guys who are further past their prime and, in their primes, nowhere near as good as Ruiz. I think Adamek wins, sure, but not as decisively as Haye. No way does Adamek stop him. Arreola? Chambers? Povetkin? These guys may beat Ruiz but it'd be close. I can see Ruiz winning one of those three.

Ruiz wasn't a great fighter at the time Haye beat him, no, but he was experienced and made a career out of being awkward and making his opposition look bad. Haye and Tua are the only ones who actually looked impressive beating him, and the Tua fight happened before he adjusted his style.

Of course, it's easier to diminish the win than admit Haye may have put in a good performance though...

He'd lost 3 of his previous 6 (or 4 of 7 if you can see past Jimbobs naughties). He'd had 7 rounds against a joruneyman in almost 2 years and he was 38. I'd have fancied Chag to do him again and even Valuev, Haye, the Klits, Povetkin, Chambers, Adamek, Liakhovich and even some of the prospects like Pulev, Gerber and Charr to get the W.

Are you serious? Ruiz hasn't registered any notable wins in the past 7 years and lost all fights against ranked boxers.

Anyone who can't see that a guy who struggled to look half decent against Serin would struggle to beat any half decent heavyweight is being ridiculous. Serin was a human punch bag and Ruiz took longer than it should have, add that wo wins against Tisdale and a 37 year old Jameel McCline and Ruiz's form has been dire.

Heck add Peter, Gomez, Arreola to my list of men who'd have beat him as well.

Roy Jones and James Toney, two former middlweight champions, made him look Ruiz foolish as well. If they had Haye's size and power they too would have KO'd Ruiz. Yes there is controversy surrounding the Toney fight right, but that doesn't change the fact Ruiz was beaten up by a 5' 9" bloated middleweight.

Please. This is sad. Ruiz, who was never that good in the first place, was outright garbage by the time Haye fought him.
