Well, when the German prosecutor (in person) is interviewed on Sky News and says all this stuff, then yes, it probably is.

As an expert hero human rights lawyer extraordinaire I can confirm that both Del and Dave will be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Actually, Chisora assaulted him and Haye retaliated. It's a complete mess and best if everyone just leaves it alone now.

I don't know about German law, but in British court Haye would walk on self-defence.

Yes, he did attack Chisora. I don't know what Chisora was about to do, but Haye had reasonable grounds to perceive him as a threat to his person.
In English law, it doesn't matter if that perception is correct or incorrect, as long as it is REASONABLE to have perceived the situation in such a way.

    THINK OF THE STARVING CHILDREN!

They're all loving the drama, but it'll get to the court and they'll go "huh?"

I think he's right. You are allowed to act first if you believe an attack is imminent.

However, he didn't show any attempt to avoid conflict.

We probably need to get Perry Mason on the dog to clarify whether perception is correct or incorrect, its important, pivotal even

It would be a mitigating factor, I suspect, but it wouldn't excuse him considering he's a trained fighter. He didn't HAVE to stand there, but it was an intense environment.

    http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/self_defence/

"...A man who is attacked or believes that he is about to be attacked may use such force as is both necessary and reasonable in order to defend himself. If that is what he does then he acts lawfully."

As I said yesterday (in response you called me an expert in German case law which they don’t use).

It was in response to the guy talking about if it was in an English court. Keep up.

Yes, in English law it wouldn't matter if Chisora was really going to hurt Haye or not ..... the question would be WAS IT REASONABLE FOR HAYE TO BELIEVE HE WAS IN SERIOUS DANGER ?

That's the law, I'm pretty sure.

Not just "did Haye believe he was in danger ?", but "did he have reasonable grounds to believe that?" .... and that's what a jury would decide upon.

    As far as I know.
