Atlas is an overrated trainer and an egomaniac. I'd favor Wlad over Povetkin, but was really excited to see someone with the competitive drive that Povetkin has matching up against him. Atlas needs to let go of his ego and let his fighter do his thing.
I agree. IMO it was the worst move team Povetkin could have made. Team povetkin has turned more into a story about atlas then about Povetkin.... and you said it...EGO:good
sounds like BS. Haye backs out of fighting both of them earlier, now he is going to pay to do so.? I don't think so, it's just posturing on his behalf.
atlas will forever live off the tyson associtiaon and the moorer holyfield fight :-( povetkin doesent have the power to trouble the klits
It would be nice if it played out like that but I'm skeptical. Is Haye really going to cough up 1 million to fight Wlad when he could fight him later anyways. Haye could fight Hopkins or Holyfield next and make a much easier big payday and then go into a Klitschko fight. Not to mention he could face Vitali next once Vitali destroys Sosnowski. And would the IBF even allow Povetkin another extension before he loses his mandatory position? Good idea but I'm not sure it happens.
I think everybody has got over this "Haye Is Scared" stuff now. Time to move on and accept the fact that Haye wants them both. You don't talk that much and show that much disrespect then just not fight them. Haye is a confident guy and he seems to truly dislike those guys. And the brothers seem to really dislike Haye lol. So the fight will happen and it will be interesting. I mean, people can hate on Haye all you want, but you can't deny he is actually entertaining the heavyweight division, even when he isn't in the ring.
If the fight does happen next, and I'm praying that it does, I would assume that both parties would split the cost of the payoff...which would likely be a drop in the bucket if this proposed mega fight actually goes through. I do concurn that Povetkin has absolutely no desire to fight Wlad, and this give him the possibility at least of another option...If Haye wins, he would have a more favorable matchup. I don't think he'd win, but he'd have a much better crack at it.
I agree...well, not exactly an expiration date, but Povetkin certainly should have logically fallen out of the top spot because he hasn't done **** in the last year and a half. You would thing that would resonate with the brainsurgeons at the IBF...but apparently they're asleep at the switch.
I'm not quite that cynical. I think Haye wants to fight Klitschko, eventually. But there's no way he risked his privileged position right now with a title and his own promotions company to take on Wlad...It won't happen. He'll take his time, fight his mandatories, fight a few more in the UK and challeng Wlad in about 2 years.
i was just stirring the pot on the 2nd part of my post. i agree that no way haye fights wlad now i dont think it will happen until 2011 if at all. IMO Hayes ego will keep it from happening. He will have more fights to make more cash and when he is ready to hang em up and retire, thats when he will take on his biggest challenge and risk...Wlad
I agree. It will look like the Chambers fight only much, much shorter. In fact, the increased workrate of Povetkin coupled with his horrible defense could result in a truly horrific knockout. I am not looking forward to that fight, as a boxing fan or man of peace...ha.. I see Povetkin getting absolutely demolished by Wlad...Possibly in such a way that it end his career for good. Povetkin has heart, but he's a heavybag with feet for a guy like Wlad.
You must insult Wald's mom personally in front of camera so Wlad would pay you $300K for entering the ring. Then you can ask Haye for $300K step aside re-compensate.
