I agree with you, but i do not think it was a wise strategy as it became obvious that he did not want any top guys immediately. Anyway, the guy has a lot of talent and lot to prove right now.
Peter would put Haye into a coma with one over right hand, the guy has already hit the deck from alot less. What some people dont understand, Haye is a bully at cruiser, because he's always the bigger stronger man, so he can back them into a corner and let off shots, but against bigger, naturally stronger men like Wlad and Peter, he's the one thats going to be getting backed, especially with that weak ass chin of his, it's only a matter of time before someone lays him out for the world to see.
Well, even if Haye's team did turn down Peter, we don't know the exact reasons as to why he did so. It could have been money or maybe Haye just didn't want to jump in to the deep end of the Heavyweight Division so quickly.
Totally agree there, he needs to back it up and show some excitement in his next fight to keep the attention.
No one should have believed he wanted them immediately anyway, he was just sending signs and nothing else. They know that after a few fights he will be ready to mix it up with them and hyping it up too early doesn't harm.
Well Peter was scheduled to fight Vitali long time ago so Haye would have had to wait for 2009 and he simply didnt want to wait so long.
WTF? Sam Peter is obligated to fight Vitali, the champ emeritus, the mandatory... I don't think Team Peter and Team Haye could've put down enough step-aside money and Vitali was always very serious about getting back into the ring... There was never time for Peter-Haye... so nothing to turn down if the opponent has a mandatory and a bigger money fight in Klitschko...
Even if there was time they won't take on Peter that soon, the only reason Peter's team made a move is after hearing the trash talk from Haye.
Oh....its true! I'm sure David isn't completely off his rocker to face Sam right now. Not that Sam is great,..he's just a legit HW who is a problem for Dave.
