I think Haye will win a close points decision. Surprised at the amount of people backing a Haye stoppage win.
Truth is... nobody really knows how Chisora will react to the combination of speed and power Haye delivers. Chisora had his world rocked by Helenius which subsequently broke Helenius's right hand in the first round. So didn't take any further big right hands throughout the fight. Vitali hit him at will but we all know that the post 4 year retirement Vitali is heavy handed but 100% arm puncher... Nobody knows how Chisoras legs are going to behave when Haye lands a spiteful 1-2 that he doesn't see coming. Ruiz fought some big punchers in his career. A lot of people on here was saying Haye didn't have the power to stop him prior to their fight too... I guess we won't know until we see Del Boy take a couple of flush shots to the whiskers.
His workrate against Ruiz was also a lot down to the fact that Ruiz tried to stay in his face and pressure him. Haye proved he can put in a decent shift when forced to that night. Class of opponent no doubt has a factor... so in that regard we can expect Haye to show a high workrate because Del Boy is of the same class as Ruiz in my opinion... actually i rate Ruiz (even that version) higher. Also the fact that against the bigger guys he was having to time his attacks more and fight more conservatively to not be manhandled inside and not sit in his opponents range too long... which any fighter worth his salt would do when up against such size difference and holding a speed advantage. Too many people are remebering the Wlad fight and thinking Haye is just going to back peddle and throw 3 punches a round like he did against the best in the division who held every physical advantage over him. This fight he is fighting a guy of the same ilke as Barrett and Ruiz so expect a similar Haye performance to those fights...
I think you're underrating Chisora, or overrating Ruiz (who didn't have a significant win in 6 years when fighting Haye). I think it was a completely flawed strategy in BOTH fights... He couldn't beat Wlad on points, that was clear long before that bout happened, but also the Valuev fight he easily could have lost on the cards with 'normal' German scoring. He was on the backfoot against Ruiz too (Ruiz was the one coming forward) and he did nothing for 2 rounds against Harrison not because he had a bet on the 3rd, but because he was waiting for Audley to come towards him. (this last is just my only reasonable explaination for that weird fight)
And who has Chisora beat of any note in the last 6 years? other than 2 decent showings, against 2 1 armed men in his last 2 fights who in terms of styles and physical attributes are the complete polar opposites of Haye? Ruiz that night was fairly nimble on his feet, good use of the jab and was putting combinations together which to make pressure fighting work against Haye you need to do. Chisora is slower of foot and hand. Therefore i can't see him pinning Haye down and will just be walking onto punches all night much in the same way Ruiz did. I agree with you to some extent. But you're still papering over the fact that against Ruiz (a guy that mimics very well what Chisora will bring) Haye was very active and regularly landed heavy shots for 9 rounds whilst evading most attacks bar a couple of jabs. Whilst sticking to your notion that Haye will be easily outworked
Well, we will just keep disagreeing with this... we will see soon enough. When is this fight actually?
If on July 15th you were proved to be right and that Hayes work rate is dire and Chisora wins the fight... i will be on here to give you you're props Robney. Although I think you've got more chance of me coming on here and gloating that I was right :yep:good
I think The **** will win on points. Chisora looks a bit tubby, which is a worrying sign, despite there being 8 weeks to train it off.
Haye by ko, round 5 or 6. Haye is the taller man & has a longer reach. Also Haye is Much fitter, stronger, better shape, technically superior. Pretty much Haye is levels above Chisora in all departments. What has Chisora actually done in his career for people to think he will win?
