    That was a nice promotion.
    And a nice ko.

Now we now Macca wasn't that good. But still, at the time, with an excellent build up, the fight was pretty big to me.

I remember both fighters being extremely tense and nervous. Based on what was being said on this site I expected much more from Macarinelli.

Haye looked decent but its not like he was facing a world beater that night.

Because of the way he stubled into the corner after he got up slurring "he stepped on my foot". Haye was only going to jump on him again and knock his head off. Ref did him a favour. Can't really complain about it.

What's stopping him from taking on an American like Arreola or Chambers? Both of those fights would be very marketable from HBO's standpoint--both fighters have engaging personalities and both have a good chance against Haye. To top it all off, Haye actually dissed these guys back in March as overweight and unworthy of fighting the Klits for the title...ok David, why don't you get in the ring with one of these guys and introduce yourself to America?

I could see HBO doing a 24/7 on this fight as all 3 of these fighters are attractive and marketable to the American television audience.

Also, a fight against Adamek or Povetkin would surely get picked up by HBO. I'm not sure its entirely accurate that Haye would bank more cheddar fighting A-force.

As for the Macc fight....it was entertaining. Macc was clearly over-rated....Adamek or Cunningham would have been a more sporting contest.

That was when he was stumbling around like a drunk tramp and trying to start a discussion with the ringpost?

That must be why Ross Greenburg recently said that no US heavyweights were of any interest to HBO anymore and hence HBO were 'out of the heavyweight business'. Right?

id just like to make a note that macca proved himself by beating braithwaite.

but the point you made in bold is sad but true. it really is. we would love to see khan take on john murray, maklin take on barker(actually happening and cant wait!) haye to take on audley, froch take on degale/groves domestic fights are always intersting. even if, like you rightfully say, they are a mismatch.

the problem is when things go too far, i.e. calzaghe had waaaay to many domestic fights whilst he was a champ.

Maybe HBO isn't interested in promoting a new American contender and then watching the Klitschkoes jab/grab and/or knock the Ami sucker out.

Against Haye a top-rated heavy like Chambers or Arreola would have a good chance of picking up a title, and it would be a much more entertaining fight. Why wouldn't HBO go for that?

They(HBO) are really just trying to force a match between Klitchko
and Haye. I think they have said that's the only HW fight they will show.
