Just been flicking through oddschecker and they've got this fight listed for 18th Oct. Anyone know if this has been confirmed?

    Cheers,

    Interesting.

Bet365 and Betfair have odds up on the fight.

Nothing confirmed, anything regarding potential heavyweight opponents for Haye should also be taken with a big pinch of salt because there as so many options.

Maskaev has that big Moscow fight with Rob Hawkins coming up next weekend. Don't know if he'd want to go right into another fight just a month later.

Heard about this a while ago but thought it had been dropped. Big fan of Haye but he really needs to step up and choose an opponent soon. Maskaev wouldn't be a bad opponent. He's still a relatively big name, held a belt and would be a toughish challenge. If it does go ahead Haye to spark him in 6.

Well, if it is true, he obviously ducked Toney who challenged him via websites. He took the easy road by fighting shot Maskaev, that is what I expected from him anyway, no big surprise there.

So if Haye was to beat Maskeav much easier than Peter, the WBC champion. That would not impress you?

Hell if he chose Toney he would have been fighting a fat MW.

If he beats Maskaev convicingly he will get credit.

But real boxinginsiders know that Toney presents a tougher test than Maskaev. He looked better than Maskeav in his last fight and has never been koed. But I do not expect Haye to take that fight, too risky. It is just with all his talk you were hoping that haye would fight Toney.

Why's that??? Haye's biggest issue is his chin. Maskaev has power, Toney doesn't. For Haye, Maskaev is the much riskier fight. Haye would just beat Toney by wide UD on workrate alone at this point in his career. At least Maskaev has a puncher's chance.

I hope, for the sake of Oleg's health, that the fight is canceled.

This is the fight I have always thought Haye would take, because the Big O is in the top ten, and he's older. Now, if this fight happens, and Haye beats the big O, I will give Haye a lot of credit. Despite his age, Maskaev has a big punch, and he likes to fight inside. If he can manage to get inside on Haye, who doesn't like guys that close to him, he could knockout Haye. This is one of those fights, as the fight goes longer and longer, the more The Big O will get scarier and scarier for Haye and his fans. No doubt Haye will be favored, but look out guys. I will have a lot of credit for Haye if he beats Maskaev.

Yeah sure. The fat miget with no power a threat to Haye. You do know why Toney can cope at HW. Reflex's and his defence, that will not work at all against a fighter with good handspeed, movement and power. Of which there are 3 at HW, all of whom would stop Toney.

Masakev at least has big power and is a former champion.

    Real boxing insiders, :patsch.

Maskaev is fighting Robert Hawkins on 9/6/08, not David Haye.

Well yeah, they have to let him seem like a great heavyweight before they can land a fight with Vitali or Wlad. They'll let him beat a 2 or 3 horrible fighters and he'll get a title shot and get destroyed.
