What sort of business would this fight do in the UK? You'd have to back Haye to do a number I mean povetkin has looked dreadful the last couple of years yet he has a "title" Could you tag it with another decent fight and get enough cash to interest Haye?
I don't think he'll take it, but he might as well if he can't get Klitschko. He'd look spectacular and spark Povetkin in the middle rounds.... it'll win back some of the doubters too. No lose situation for him, IMO.
If he wants a rematch with Wladimir then this guarantees the mandatory spot in about a years time. No reason not to take a huge risk in this fight.
Yeah and if he ko'd povetkin in a good scrap Haye would actually have a half decent resume at heavyweight, value, Barrett, ruiz, chisora, povetkin, not bad for this era, to go with his cruiser achievments If vitali refused to fight him he could retire and be remembered in good stead imo
If David fought and beat Povetkin, IMO how would completely nullify any legitimate critisism that he cons as opposed to fights his way to the top.
Tbh I wish he was more active. Hate him or love him, he is simply the most entertain HW at present. I agree his fight against Wlad was abit of a dive, but he's clearly the only boxer that could cause the Klits any issue. For me, I'd love to see him become more active, I know in his post presser, he said he wants to fight once a year, but there's big fights out there for him, with very minimal risk. He should look to drag Huck back to HW, fight in Germany, he'd make very good money, off a limited fighter with no defence, and probably secure a victory by KO. He should also look to fight Povektin, again the fight would sell, fight at MSG or something, it would sell out. Even fights against Arrerolla and Adamek, who are both very limited fighters, who Haye would beat easily, could provide very lucrative paydays, if he's willing to travel. He's great for the sport, it's a shame he doesn't seem wanting to fight on a more regular basis :/
