If Haye trains to shorten up his punches properly, he could win this in devastating fashion. However, if he doesn't, he'll probably lose his composure and we'll be looking at a Ruiz-Golota-type fiasco.
really hope Haye splatters him but as we all know Ruiz is the ultimate spolier , this could easily end up a boring 12 round maul !
There's just been a press conference on Sky Sports News. April 3rd, M.E.N Arena, Manchester. Ruiz failed to turn up to the press conference.
John Ruiz was never the WBC champion. Besides, those silly ABC belts mean absolutely nothing anyway. Ruiz was never the Heavyweight Champion of the World. He didn't beat Lennox Lewis, so he wasn't champion. Just like Roy Jones was never the World Heavyweight Champion. Anyway, Haye vs. Ruiz is not a bad fight. John Ruiz is a seasoned veteran with a difficult style to deal with. I think Haye will win, but I'm not so sure he will score the knockout. Ruiz has only been stopped once and that was the famous 19 second destruction by David Tua.
Indeed he may well be absolute poison to watch but he knows how to survive and how mess up a guys rythym. this is a bit of a no win situation here , unless Haye does actually manage to find the pucnhes to put him away in decent style
You cannot get people to buy PPV if you say "I'm fighting a bum because he is mandatory, the fight is pointless and a waste of time, hes not a challenge to me but the rules state I have to fight him otherwise I lose my belt, sorry guys"
Hmmm , he's horrible to watch , has no one outsanding attribute ( speed, power whatever ) but lo and behold he's still here , he's still in the mix , still casuing guys problems. The more I think about this, the more of a nightmare fight it seems
