Is this just a wild rumour? Who wins? Was the Wlad fight and cancellation all a promotion for the fight Haye originally wanted? I personally think Haye will have a tougher time with Vitali, he will have a war on his hands and the only way i see him winning is by a UD with Vitali getting tired in the later rounds, I dont ever see Vitali getting KO'd by Haye. It would be great if Haye does win, im hoping this fight happens and that Haye doesn't throw his back out this time "shadow boxing" http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/boxing/2469186/Haye-keeps-it-in-the-family.html
I hope it happens, and the fight being possible and mentioned between the parties involved has been on more sites than merely the *sun*.
Vitali in 6-7. I would even say that Haye could decision Vitali by being cute(ever since his return Vitali's been a bit slow and rigid) but he won't have the stamina or the complete tool-set to do it and if his back is still bothering him then Haye won't make it out of the 4th. imho
ha ha, But really, they even look the same, share same kind of Chin both coming from Cruiserweight, big punchers, fast, but not much more. You dont have to be genius what is waiting for Haye:rofl
Heh heh. :rasta The saddest thing is that Hide was better than Haye. He had much better movement than David does, and just as good of power (at CW), or very close. You're right -- no need to be an Einstein to figure out how this one would go. Only X-factor is if Vitali gets hurt in the ring.
Gotta disagree - Hide was not better than Haye as a cruiser & as a heavy we don't know yet. If this comes off this is a really interesting match - Vit does look vulnerable and more tentative than before. Sanders stung him badly in their fight so let's see what happens if a fast, mobile puncher can hit him more than once. The % bet will always be Vit and he is legitimately a heavy favourite but...
Herbie Haye would have about a 10% chance in this fight, and 9% of that chance would have to do with Vitali's age and history of getting injured (Byrd fight, in particular). If you had to design a fighter to beat Haye, Vitali would be the guy: Granite chin, high workrate, hard to hit and much, much larger than Haye. Hide could move, and did so against Vitali. Haye can't move anywhere near as well as Hide could when he fought VK. On the other hand, Vitali is older now, and that has to be given some thought.
I would love to see this fight made. The ONLY reason I don't want to see it made, however, is because when Haye is KO'd all his fans will say, falsely, that Vitali had to rescue Wlad. It would be total revisionist history, but they would say it, as we all know. Haye just wants to cash out, it seems, before his hands/rest of his body stop cooperating with his career, particularly as a HW. That's why he's been targeting the Klitschkos, IMO.
Herbie Hides power even at heavyweight was devastating. Riddick Bowe said in an interview when asked who was the hardest puncher he'd ever faced...he said "without a doubt Herbie Hide!" If Herbie had a decent chin he'd have been amazing...sadly we know that wasn't the case..hence his dropping down to cruiserweight. If the Haye v Vitali fight does come off...well, I cant help thinking Haye needs Vitali to grow old fast. Vitali has never been on the floor...and has the power and reach to be a nightmare for Haye...but still I'd never count Haye out with that power.
Great post :good Hide was a real threat when he first came up at HW. No one knew about his glass (HW) chin. Everybody already knows about Haye's junk chin -- even as a CW. I posted a thread (or maybe just a post) about this before, about their relative KO's, etc. Haye is just a lesser version of Hide, IMO.
