Haye is an awful underachiever as a heavyweight due to boxing not being on top of his life priorities. Fame and wealth is what he's always been after.
I am a big fan of Wlad and considered Haye to be a worthy foe. Strangely enough some boxing fans insist that "Haye landed the only telling shots". Sure, he landed some, but Wlad clearly tagged him with more solid shots.
I don't think there were too many Brits as dissapointed by Haye's performance as this American was. Not that I ever really believed that Haye would knock Wlad out. The haters can talk about how easy it is but only a few have been able to pull it off....I was hoping for a competitive fight. Haye had the talent to make it one. And with all the talk going into the fight, I was sure he had a real gameplan. Yeah, I got snuckered. :verysadNow, I believe that his toe may have been a factor. But blaming the loss solely on his toe was too much....I had very high hopes for Haye. Not so much as a threat to the Klitchskos, but as a talented, charismatic contender that could generate some much needed excitement. His announced retirement a few months ago ensured that Mr. Haye will not be snuckering me again.
Can't repeat enough how ultra-fast and well coordinated Wlad is for a man of his size. The way he clowned speedy Haye in this round is brilliant.
Wlad was great that round landed some right hands and his jab was backing Haye off Haye did manage one good right but it had no effect Wlad timed Haye so easily
What else could he do? I give him props for his ability too, but he doesn't belong in the same ring with Vlado.
Haye didn't follow the gameplan that night of following up on his big shots for whatever reason he just didnt want to risk it or whatever adam booth even said it himself so Haye did have a gameplan going into the fight
