just saw on teletext that Wlad has called it off on his website due to Haye and his team lacking proffessionalism, he's now looking towards Arreola - or in other words...He's bottled it.

I'm dissapointed but I don't believe it's off for definate (i feel another pacman/hatton on/off situation again) however we've got 2 big fights already this year we need to save a few for next year...wouldn't mind seeing Haye establish himself as a HW then have a bigger and better showdown with the Klitsckho's next year.

Haye's balls of steel scared both the Klit sisters off.

hmmmm from what i have read is that Hayes demands are too high considering he is the CHALLENGER who wouldnt sell a big big arena, plus he has only fought maybe 6/7 rounds at heavy!!

Haye should be greatfull for his undeserved title shot and grab it with both hands and then start his demands, or step back down to cruiser and demand all he wants, just my opinion!

Old news mate, Richard Schafaer of goldenboy has now taken over negotiations and we should be seeing the fight happen in the States rather than Uk/Germ

in the states!! aarrgghh!! i hate the 3am starts!! whats the point in the states i dont think Haye is a very big draw over there and cant see many fans of Haye travelling like jc"s or Hattons!

He sold out a big arena fighting some welsh nobody. they would easily fill any London venue on this one.

David Haye cannot just bounce into the Heavyweight Division..

And get a title shot after 2 fights.

He should fight against James Toney or something.

No i dont think it is, well...its only just come on teletext within the last hour. if it was old news surely there would be articles with the same quotes from Wlad saying it's off.

I think he is just bluffing anyway - trying to get Haye to give in to his demands.

Yeah I mean champions from a lower weights moving up always have to fight a fight lazy burger eating 40 year old big mouth before they are considered for a title shot.

and what happened against Barrett??? did he fill the o2 then ??? no!!

this fight Wlad would be just as much of the draw as Haye so he cant demand a high premium as the CHALLENGER

No one went to see Barrett... they went to see Haye. Aand more importantly it wasnt a title fight.

Fact is for a title fight held in the UK Haye would bring a lot of fans and wherever it was held the fight would generate more interest than most of Wlads recent borefests as everyone and his dog knows someone is getting KTFO in this one.
Haye is the biggest fight out there for either Klit. They would make more money fighting him even if they were on a slightly lower % than normal. That why he deserves a bit more than your run of the mill canon fodder.

Lest face it... Haye aint going to be asking 50/50 here is he.

Are both titles going to be on the line here??

I just dont think Haye has done anthing at heavyweight to have high demands, why would wlad risk losing to him unless its massivly lucrative to him, when he could just plod along out pointing mandatorys?

it was reported on setanta this afternoon that Schafaer is taking over negotiations...which basically means that the fight could have a neutral promotion and make extra american tv money to keep both fighters happy.

didn't wlad get a fairly decent crowd at MSG in the last year or so?

Yeh schafaer took over a few days ago, which is why i think the fight still has a good chance of happening. Haye still has to agree to a purse split tho and Wlad may just be saying "it's off" to try and get Haye to fear the fight is off and accept less of the split.

I read something ystdy to the effect of Haye asked for the Brit ppv money only and they were baulking at that. Haye hasn't done anything of note at heavy yet but when has that stopped a big fight been made..? Of course he could plod along taking his mandos but that is why Haye has been chasing them about to try and get the reaction that their pride will give eg fight him or be known as ducking him, they won't want that as both are too proud imo.
