haye about 7-5 but it was a terrible performance. good win, terrible performance. sublime defence, terrible offence. even with a broken right hand. stamina looked the worst i'd seen it in years and didn't even throw his left much.

i really want to see the punch stats.

 

He'd barely got a sweat on at the end, he looked as fresh as a daisy:huh

At the end of the day scoring a fight is a very personal thing. It is not only me who had Haye losing but all of the Sky team and The Ring Magazine has said Haye lost as well. These are people who are paid because of thier boxing knowledge.

too much cocksucking of David Haye I think, from ignorant sun readers who only paid £15 to see how a 6' 4" bloke could possibly square up to a 7' 2" giant.

Valuev is a slow cumbersome sack of **** boxer with a powerful jab, it's hardly a secret.

But that boxer took the initiative versus Haye, stalked him round the ring and landed far more shots than Haye even attempted. they were soft jabs, but as bruce forsythe used to say, points mean prizes.

Bearing in mind it was Valuev's title, and he was fighting at home, I'm struggling to justify how David Haye walked out with that belt.

Hearing that he broke his hand in round three explained why Haye threw barely any punches. But it doesn't explain how he won the fight ffs. Valuev out landed him for at least 8 rounds.

I'm glad Haye won and the implications it has for the heavyweight division. But did he deserve to win - and the acclaim he's getting? I don't think so.

For me personally, the right outcome would have been that Valuev won on points. Then through media channels, the boxing world would have understood that Haye broke his hand in round three, and preparations would have been made for a rematch to see the real David Haye. Then in the rematch, Haye would have been more aggressive, and look for thre KO (as in round 12) and earning the title, rather than having it handed to him for landing three or four hooks in three minute rounds.

Haye did well to win the fight with a broken hand against a heavyweight like that, but no-one will ever convince me that he was a worthy winner that night. As a Haye fan and proud Brit, I would like to boast that my boy went in against the odds and won the title in a storming performance, like when Hatton started landing against Kostya Tszyu, and the poor ******* didn't know what had hit him. But instead I'm slightly embarrassed that he won his title in a gift, in a fight he didn't deserve to win.

Hopefully he will go on to more glorious nights than that though. But to mark Haye down as a worthy champion with scorecards like 117-111 and 116-112 is plain deluded. You don't win fights by margins like that, forever on the backfoot and landing a handful of hooks per round. To win a title away from home you should go and earn it, and Haye didn't.

Frankly I'm not going to read all that because you initial bull**** put me off but... Valuev landed more shots than Haye? Why is it everybody elses eyes and the punch stats seem to disagree with you?

I've heard people saying Valuev won because he was the aggressor, or something about Haye not doing enough to take the belt, but Valuev landed MORE punches?

 

I suspect Davro may have been watching on a bad quality stream. That's the only way that anyone could have mistakenly thought that those punches were landing.

I had it 116-113.

First round I scored even. 10 & 11 for Valuev, and I can't remember off the top of my head but one of the middle rounds for him too. Rest for Haye.
