I think this fight would be a great eliminator and put the test to both men. I dont see anyway Arreola gets tested from Travis walker in 2 weeks. Make the winner a mandatory for a belt. I think this would be an exciting match up between 2 young sluggers.
That would be an exciting fight. If I am not mistaken, there is some beef between the two. Haye supposedly called or refered to Aerola as that "ugly fighter." Regardless, as soon as the bell rings they'll both start going head hunting. I honestly believe, that a focused, and in shape Aerola could stop Haye.
If Arreola beats Walker, I don't know why he couldn't beat Haye. Arreola is the type of HW Haye won't fight unless there is a title on the line though. He wouldn't risk getting KOd for nothing. Monte Barrett even admitted that's he's not really a puncher, and that the fact had something to do with Haye selecting him.
Well Arreola is an ugly fighter, the man is not aesthetically pleasing that is for sure. But, that has nothing do to with boxing! I think it can be justified makign this a title elimiantor fight and haye would go for it. If there is bad blood that makes it even better
i still not sure how arreola got in the ring top 10, and how he got so many boxing fans who are the most critical negative bunch to have so much faith in him, hes overweight and has beaten no world class fighters. in europe i see loads of fighters id rate over arreola
Its because his undefeated and he is an American. Not saying thats justified, but I think those are the main reasons.
Arreola has fought some live heavies. he isnt making a living fighting bums. take a look at his resume, it isnt bad at all for a guy with 25 fights. I know Arreola has trouble staying in shape, but he can bang..he isnt just beating these guys he is Knocking them out.
I think Arreola has potential, but isn't ready for someone that has the experience of David Haye. Let's see him fight a real "gatekeeper" before getting all excited. If the fight was made for January 2009, Haye would absolutely outclass Arreola. Only a "lucky" punch would cause Haye to lose.
I have seen Arreola a few times and honestly tonight was my first viewing of Haye. I don;t have enough experience with Haye to say decisively how good he is. Right now, based on a total guess I would say this fight could go either way. Two very dangerous hard punching young heavies. What is not to like about this match up? Make it for a mandatory spot for one of the titles. Surely there has been worse guys fighting for a title than either of these guys. FFS Holyfield is getting another title shot, either of these guys would kill Holy at this point.
Arreola, from what I have seen is just another big fat useless lump. I don't get what americans are on about when they talk about him. Clutching at straws?
I dont rate Arreola, he does nothing that impresses me, he is just another lumbering heavyweight with power. Apparentley Haye KO'd him in sparring for the Barrett fight recentley.
Now that is a fight I'd like to see! But I think it would be really dangerous for Haye, Arreola is a huge puncher and a pretty big guy. If they fought right now, I would favour Arreola. And before some of you start bashing me, I'm not trying to discredit Haye or anything! Actually, his performance tonight was pretty good and I praised him in other threads for getting the job done in impressive fashion over a legit HW. Btw, a poll would be very interesting to go along with this thread, mr RC.
