Haye: 'Vitali is not ducking me, he wants to fight. But his team don't want it'

Exactly. Since coming back from injury (and particularly as he has aged) Vitali has been matched against fighters who pose little challenge in the way of elusiveness or movement. Vitali doesn't need to be matched against fighters who are going to make him miss and risk injuring himself again. He's able to do this because Boente knows that the Germans will happily pay to see him beat on some plodder who will stand in front of him and eat punches.

The only reason Boente entertained the idea of Haye - Vitali was because of that PPV money that Haye bough to the table. However, at the moment it doesn't seem as though Haye has got PPV backing in Britain - meaning he is low reward for the risk he poses. Vitali will fight much lower risk fighters until Haye can get back on PPV after winning a fight or two and then the fight will probably happen.

 

It's an ego thing, Vitali offered Haye a shot (undeserved at the time) and Haye said "ok but I wanna fight somebody else first" which is something you don't do when one of the two kings of the division wants to give you an opportunity. Vitali feels Haye is not taking him seriously so he's done with the guy.

It's a shame Boente is stopping the fight from happening, but risk:reward is pretty much the biggest determining factor in the majority of fights getting made in boxing, so it's no different to any other promotional company. Once Haye has fought a couple of fights, gets on PPV then Boente will be interested again and the fight will happen.

 

just think about those times haye could have fought Vitali.......not only did he have a garbage title, but his defenses againt Ruiz and Audley are all time disgraces......... dude is an absolute ass clown

 

It's funny, because I've seen you defend plenty of bad Wlad fights because they were mandatories. But then again, I suppose expecting consistency from you would be a bit much.

If its a yes then boente again is giving haye what he wants and thats a vitali showdown but NOOO!! Haye instead wants to fight Chisora first. Boente warn Booth about if haye face chisora then no vitali fight down the road.
