Financially, that was perfectly reasonable. Easier way to a title, decent money, big money ahead when fighting either Klitschko in a unification, or a big voluntary fight (when he loses ). I perfectly agree it would have been stupid to go on with the fight once Setanta went belly up.

However, that only counts to his defense IF he takes a Klitschko unification when he can. If he comes with "boohoo they don't give me a 90:10 purse split although I am sooo much bigger than them boohoo, I have to fight Rahman/Holyfield/Hopkins/RJJ instead", then f*** him.

 

Vitali has been on US TV for every fight of his comeback. Haye has been on USTV once.

No fighter in the World could compete with March Madness in the States which is why HBO is not going to show a fight live at 5PM Eastern time up against NCAA Basketball. That would be idiotic. Even Ali could not outdraw the numbers Basketball does this time of year. It is a business. You realize that right?
