Jack Dempsey would win by an early round stoppage...in my opinion.

DEMPSEY WAS HARD AND TOUGH NO FLUFF but it would be interesting...Haye has no proven himself with 22 fights but it would be interesting to see Dempsey in with anyone in this era...Chagaev, Valuev, Haye, Dempsey would not do bad...in fact he would be a tough guy for that group to beat

Dempsey charges out of his corner and gets inside, they wrestle a bit, they separate, Dempsey comes in again and eats a right hand, he backs up and resets, rushes in, ducks a jab and drops Haye with a flurry to the body and a straight right to the chin. Haye gets knocked down 4 more times before he stays down.

Well, Maxomer if the fight plays out like you say and Dempsey eats a right hand....then he is defintley going down. Firpos right hand floored dempsey 3 times including once out of the ring where the typewriter saved him, and firpo's snap and accuracy in his punch was nothing compared to Hayes. Actually, Firpo looks god awful on film. 170lb Carpentiers right sent dempsey on rubber legs, brennans right stunned dempsey, tunneys right floored him.. I like Dempsey by knockout in this one, Haye is too unproven and his chin is a big question mark for a combination puncher like Dempsey, but if Dempsey eats a big right hand he is going down.

Dempsey could not take a flush Haye punch. In fact, neithe man could take the others best shot, but both men are hard to put down for the count. I think Haye could take this one - He's the better, more accurate, faster puncher.

It would not be the right hand that would start Haye's pain, I have bets on the left.

Dempsey KO's Haye. He would take some shots first, Haye is pretty athletic and quick, he's a talented and skilled fighter. Still, Dempsey would have that ass.

Jeesh Turpinr you are a good one. I like you. If everybody here made post like you this would be a joy. Haye is a modern fighter. Dempsey fought in a era with with smaller gloves, less skilled people and you could avoid peope because of their race.
I dont think much of Haye because he hasn't proven anything yet but if he has any skill at all he would knock out Dempsey, Marciano, or Tunney in the same night.

the point i was making is,a modern fighter will beat an old timer.
it doesn't have to be david haye,it could be langford or greb Vs roy jones.
i'm not a fan of jones ,but i know he would beat those two !!

TurpinR i agree with you 100 percent. People act like if you fought back in the day it makes you a better fighter than morden fighters. Not to mention how many fights of Dempsey do they have on record? Not many. You never saw him fight a black guy or any person with skill but based on most of these little kids he was a boxing god.
