On paper, this fight is a good match up.

He has good lateral movement, he's hard to hit clean, has fast hands, can throw his hands more than most giants without getting tired, and has explosive punches.

But he also has an unreliable chin, a tendency to do some stupid **** in the ring that he has no business doing, and a reluctant to fight anyone at this point with a pulse.

Adamek, has good lateral movement, fast hands, a tight defense, a solid chin, and decent if not heavyweight power.

But he also relies maybe too much on lateral movement which can tire him out if his opponent has a decent workrate and effective jab, and can be somewhat predictable.

If Haye had a great chin, I would pick him to beat Adamek and honestly, probably every heavyweight in the game, including the Klitschko's but because of this defeciency, and his occasionaly lapses in defense, Adamek will land something big.

And not to mention the fact that Adamek has a decent enough workrate that he can keep it a close fight even if Haye is generally outboxing him.

So while it's easy to dismiss Adamek based on his performance against Grant, who outweighed him by 45 lbs, Haye is not a big heavyweight with a solid chin.

Adamek also has faced guys more polished than Haye in Dawson and Cunningham, though they also didn't possess the TRUE heavyweight power that Haye is capable of bringing.

If you can remember those particular fights, Adamek was mostly outboxed against Dawson, and typically outboxed by Cunningham.

If it wasn't for the knockdowns against Cunningham, he would have likely lost that fight.

But this is definitely interesting. I don't know if Adamek has a chance against the Klitschko's, especially Vitali, but he is still a good fighter and has a pitbull's instinct.

The guy can fight, and I would probably favor him at this point over Povetkin and Chambers to say the least, although those would be difficult fights.

If he doesn't then he'll get outboxed.

Haye is too strong physically for Adamek. If the fight exceeded four rounds, then it would be interesting.

Haye should win this fight, but Adamek is very resilient, and he's quick enough to occasionaly get to Haye.

He's done it with Cunningham and Dawson, so he can do it with Haye.

He also appears to have a solid jaw, and is active enough to make this a competitive affair.

But in the end I would still pick Haye to win a relatively wide decision or possibly a late KO.

Like I said though, when Adamek gets to Haye it will get interesting.

i agree w/ the posts on this thread if it would go the distance then adamek wins on points easy but thats a big if. Im not a huge Haye fan but i think he would get the KO. Would be an interesting fight though no doubt, hope it happens and maybe winner vs a k bro?

Actually, I don't think Adamek would win on points. Or at least he shouldn't. He'll use a lot of aggression in the early rounds and may even get off to an early lead, but he'll find Haye a very ellusive target, that will punish you if you miss.

Eventually this will make Adamek reluctant to throw, and Haye will begin to find a home for his punches.

To be honest, I think Haye would more than likely win this fight by a clear decision unless Adamek knocks him down a few times.

I don't see the fight playing out like that, Hendo. In order for that to happen, Adamek would have to have the capacity to take David Haye's best punches. I don't think he has that kind of punch resistance as a Heavyweight, evidenced by his last few outings. A more likely scenario being that Haye would punish Adamek as he tries to the close distance to land his combination's and he stays punished.

Anyone predicting anything other than a Haye win is out of their minds. He's bigger, faster, better reflexes, better technique and hits much harder. It's one thing for Adamek to beat fat has-beens, or old never-weres. It's a whole different proposition for him to fight Haye.

For the record though, Adamek has never been down, and hasn't been seriously hurt.

You could make an argument for the end of a particular round where he was backing up against the ropes before the bell rung, but to me he looked plenty cognizant, but realizing that he had to move to get out of the way of an onrushing opponent who outweighed him by 45 lbs.

And you also have to factor in Adamek's defense. It's not bad, especially in the early round because it's so dependent on his lateral movement.

Haye will obviously test that defense and make him move, but while he still has his endurance, he will put pressure on Haye coming in at lateral angles, while more than likely avoiding serious blows, and cause Haye to be more cautious and defensive minded, likely unable to set his feet.

I don't think it will be until later when Adamek begins to tire when Haye's punches really begin to find their home.

Then it could definitely end badly for Adamek, but if he manages to land something really big on Haye, and put Haye down, I think Haye will rise, but both men will be wary of eachother's power and be reluctant to engage.

If this is the scenario, it will likely go to a decision which Haye will win, unless Adamek manages to score multiple knockdowns.

Cmon man, Adamek would get blown away in similar fashion to Enzo Mac.

But you can't always base it on size, speed, etc.

You have to remember that Haye's chin is very shaky and while he does have incredible skill, he also has some serious lapses in defense.

To be honest, I don't think he has the same skills as Cunningham and Dawson, both of whom Adamek managed to land something big on and knockdown.

So you have to factor in experience, and granted while Haye has plenty of experience of his own, Adamek has been seriously testing himself recently, and has been more active.

Would I pick Adamek to beat Haye, honestly, no, but it could still be a competitive fight.

I think the least likely scenario is a points win for David Haye for reasons I've already outlined. We'll agree to disagree, I don't think Adamek can lay claim to a good defense when he's getting hit by a shot Michael Grant who was responsible for one of the slowest and lackadaisical Heavyweight performances I have seen for awhile. When Grant is good enough to land the odd right hand counter, you can just imagine the fun David Haye will be having.

This I doubt very seriously. Both Haye and Adamek are too smart and seasoned for something like this to happen.

But the few times that Grant managed to hit Adamek, how many times did Adamek land some serious combinations?

Would Haye be able to take combinations like that?

Again, you could make the argument that he wouldn't have to, and for the most part you would be right, but Adamek did manage to knockdown better technical boxers than Haye, so I believe he will land at some point.

Unless of course Haye does manage to knock him out in spectacular fashion in the opening rounds, but I think this is unlikley because Haye will respect Adamek enough to feel him out and box him in the early rounds.
