No way Haye has a chance here unless he fought the same Ali that Holmes did..and then MAYBE he might win a decision...other than that its moot!..

He pulls out of the fight 14 times over the course of 18 years, claiming injury, and finally fights Ali post-Berbick.

They fight in England, where the referee is the sole judge. A very young C.J. Ross is the ref and awards Haye a decision.

See, it's not that hard, and well within the realm of reality.

Much has been said regarding Haye's strength and how it is greater than Ali's. In a boxing match how would that strength show itself? Punching power? Maybe, but you don't have to be very strong in the weight room to punch hard, this has been proven time and time again over the years. So how would this supposed strength advantage show itself? In a clinch? Ali could hold his own and then some against monsters like Foreman in the clinches so I don't see Haye tossing him around like a ragdoll here. Ali holds an edge in almost every aspect against Haye except punching power...and we all know how Ali did against big punchers. Sorry but Haye has little or no chance against against a prime or near prime Ali. Haye would be in over his head. Barbells don't punch back.

The Gentleman knows his stuff. Wise comments. Great fighters know how to fight great. Not lift a heavy weight, or look cut, or have a perfect physique or be big. Boxing is a high level learned athletic skill that requires a high degree of mental and physical toughness.

Haye would spark Ali out. Ali has never faced someone who had punching power but was just as quick as him.

Problem is...Haye can't fight a lick while Aliwas at the very least the second greatest hwt ever to live. A nothing vs the best? Only a loser picks the nothing to win.

You're going overboard in criticizing Haye here. Even allowing for the absolute contempt that you hold this era's heavyweights in.

Haye's not "a nothing" who "can't fight a lick." He had about as many amateur fights as Ali did, won the silver medal in the world championships for his weight class, won the lineal cruiserweight championship, sparred countless rounds against other professional heavyweights, and has stayed in Ring's heavyweight top 10 since 2008.

Haye isn't an amazing fighter like Ali. He lacks exactly the things that you mention: fighting spirit and a truly well-rounded arsenal. He's definitely not lineal heavyweight champ material. But he's really good.

No he is not. He does not exhibit the skills of a good fighter. He is a nothing who will be totally forgotten in 10 years time.

Then Haye must be an amazing con artist, since he's tricked multiple amateur and professional judging panels into awarding him victories against world-ranked opposition.

Like I said in an earlier post, your narrative about boxing decline is just too extreme. A combat sport with tens of millions at stake and thousands of professional athletes doesn't just forget how to fight.

Coaching may decline -- and apparently has done just that overall -- but not as much as you're arguing. If it has declined to such a laughably horrible level, you are free to start your own old-school gym and train somebody decent enough to bulldoze the heavyweight division.

You're assuming that boxing will get better. If anything, your narrative suggests that it will get worse. Forever.

In fifty years, Haye will be remembered fondly. Everyone will talk about the good old days, when boxers still knew forgotten skills like how to throw punches instead of bulking up to 500 pounds and headbutting each other.

    :hey

Remembered fondly? No one knows his name TODAY aside from those really into boxing. Haye is a very forgettable fighter with very forgettable abilities. World class hwts? A shot Ruiz? A walking statue in Vauev? How about his wonderful performance vs Klitchco? Haye is an example of the watered down low skill era we live in that is called hwt boxing.
