I think 215 is about right, he certainly didn't want to be higher than 225.

As he is relatively small for a heavy, he certainly doesn't want to lose much of the speed that would be his advantage - as it was with Chris Byrd to a degree, though Haye carries the weight better.

His ability to slip shots will be the key, rather than the ability to block them with his face and stand up. Putting on too much weight would make him too hittable and lead to some pretty bad beatdowns.

Hopefully he can still carry power with 215lbs and be really quick. Haye is about 6' 3" I think so against most of the heavies he should be the right height, I do not think that bulking up another 20/30 lbs for when he fights Wlad would be a good idea. Most of the heavies are fat ****ers apart from the giant Valuev and the Klit freaks. The pics and the actual fight will tell us more than just grumbling about him being only 215.

No one ever told Tyson he needed to be 230lbs to be able to knock someone out, same with a young Foreman (Not sayin Haye is on there level), but you can either punch or you cant, my concern is that he keeps his speed, because with his power and speed he will be explosive, take his speed away and he is just another puncher,
whats going to be Hayes advantage is being able to counter or startle
much slower heavyweights, its going to be fun to watch.

At his height and build, coming in around 230 will only make him slower - but just his hands but his head and body - movement around the ring, everything.

Those extra 15lbs aren't going to save him if he walks onto a massive bomb that he may have slipped weighing 215.

The diffrence is Tyson was a natural heavy. You could see that from his build. Haye isnt. He`s a guy that can make 200lbs but doesnt want to because he wants the glory up at heavyweight much the same way Holy did. But Haye isnt Holyfield. Holy was exceptional as a cruiser and much the same at heavy. I wish Haye the best but if he`s going to get in the ring vs behmoths like Vlad and co he`ll get manhandled at the weight as he simply isnt big enough. Hopefully his power bails him out but the guys a front runner with a weak chin. Not good signs at all..

    Front runner? Ya think?

Enzo, Fragomeni, Mormeck were all fights where Haye fought off the back foot and counter punched, seems to suit him well.
