Golden Boy and Haye need to learn a thing or 2 about promotions and working with the media. Both Golden boy and Haye really look unorganized. What a joke! Haye talked so much ****, then he picks bull**** boxers to face, then they pull out (according to team Haye) and he picks ANOTHER bull**** fighter. This guy is really becoming a JOKE I thought the last guy was a joke.... but fighting Chapman is a disgrace! It proves NOTHING!
Eddie hits harder than people realize. He doesn't go for the KO because he is a defensive fighter, but I was at the Povetkin fight and about two feet from the ring and the impact his punches made the same impression that Sultan's shot that dropped Austin hard did.
Bizarrely, Chapman is rated #13 by the WBC, #9 by the WBA, #7 by the WBO. Chambers is only ranked by the IBF, who have him at #8... According to the alphabets then, Chapman has a better record somehow! I think some of the best ratings are those of the IBO, which does it by computer like Boxrec. They have Chambers #9 (1 below Haye), and Chapman #92. Why doesn't Haye talk to Sinan Samil Sam (#11 WBC, #12 WBA, #12 IBF, #17 IBO, which is #14 if you exclude the champs like the others do) or Juan Carlos Gomez? JD Chapman is not the guy he needs to fight. Johnson would have been a lot better.
The bottom line is Haye caused these problems with his big mouth saying he would KO the whole HW division. If Haye is as good as he says, then they should spend the cash, whatever it is, to fight a top guy to get the BIG$$$$$ later in a fight with WLAD OR ANOTHER CHAMP. This really has become one of the biggest JOKES in boxing right now
From Setanta.com... http://www.setantasports.com/en/Spo...cets/sport-space/great-britain-locale/boxing/ "JD Chapman has pulled out of a proposed fight with David Haye on November 15. However, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer is still confident that Chapman will be in the opposite corner to his fighter at London's O2 Arena in two months' time. Haye's manager and trainer Adam Booth said that Chapman (29-0, 26 KOs) is the third opponent to pull out of a proposed fight. Schaefer revealed he spoke with Chapman's representatives before the press conference and is confident a deal can be made. "I have a pretty good feeling that JD Chapman will accept the fight," Schaefer said. "I've spoke to his people. I'm pretty confident JD Chapman will show up on November 15. "I've never experienced something like that. I had a conversation with Shelly Finkel, who is the manager of Wladimir Klitschko, and he said they will accept a fight. At that level it will be okay." Haye himself expressed his disappointment at the news, but is hopeful the American will have a change of heart. "He comes to brawl," Haye said. "I haven't seen his fights but I liked the sound of him. He hadn't fought anyone but had never been knocked down. "I love the thought of fighting a guy who is the same size as Klitschko. I hope we can shame him out of his hole and he'll come and fight." Booth earlier spoke about how sudden Chapman's pull-out was and revealed rumoured opponent Kevin Johnson asked for too much money. "He didn't get on the flight," Booth revealed. "He said: 'I'm not coming to England to get knocked out'. "This after agreeing a substantial amount of money. He is the third opponent in four days to agree terms and then to pull out. "These opponents are running away from an allegedly chinny cruiserweight. "Hopefully his balls will drop again and he will take the fight. "We will have an opponent on a similar level to a high-profile lightweight a few weeks ago, but on this occasion the home fighter will win. "We've got three more [names]. I'm not telling you who. There is some strategic interference going on. This is boxing." "This has happened all the way through David's career. "It's annoying. Who wants to have to do the work three times over? "I'm not going to mention their names because I'm hoping they will come back to me. "We went after Kevin Johnson but he over-negotiated his position." Haye suggested the fight would take place at around 12.30am, two hours earlier than his bout with Enzo Maccarinelli started."
What Haye should say: "I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm gonna get use to HW slowly. I dont wanna burn myself against the top guys right from the start. Then, when i feel ready and comfortable, i'll aim for a title shot." Nobody then would be bitching about him. We would all accept that.
according to steve bunce (on setanta news now) johnson demanded an extra 1/2 million on top of the offer he'd previously agreed. who knows what the truth is?
Barrett might be a decent option now, or maybe Dominick Guinn? He could get revenge for Audley. Neither's top ten though, nor is Chapman.
What guys like Kevin Johnson, and JD Champman? The bums of the World. Haye isn't making an effort to get a good opponent.
