To put it into perspective Boxrec have Kelly Pavlik at no.2 in their p4p list:patsch. They also rank Mike Tyson at 13 and Lennox Lewis at 14 in their all-time HW rankings.

At least boxrec shows the quality of his past opposition, just take a look. Chapman is next to nothing. Boxrec might not be the holy grail but it is much more than most belt rankings because it´s more mathematics than money from the promoters...

All the research so far states that Chapman is far from what Mr. Haye said he would fight. No offense from me either, I liked Haye in the CW division but Chapman for sure is NOT a beginning of cleaning the HW division...

Mate i couldn't agree more, but it seriously looks like know one really wants to fight him. Why should they pay over the odds for people to fightin a non title contest??????????

I was absolutely gutted when chapmans name was briefly confirmed, but looks like he has **** himself as well now.

Seriously apart from Wlad, Peter and Valuev who is there to fight? Certainly no one from America or Europe.

I know that many of them have fights in progress:

    - Chagaev
    - Povetkin
    - Virchis
    - Thompson
    - Ibragimov
    - Gomez
    - Dimitrenko
    - Barret
    - Golota
    - Chambers
    .
    .

All of them have either the power and/or the name to make a good fight.

Especially Povetkin and Dimitrenko would be interesting fights...

Jeez scarey names. Dimitrenko is a joke and Povetkin proved himself to be nothing more than a fat kid with good stamina, nothing special in either.

Chambers is a non puncher and apart from his nationality offers nothing.

Golota hardly fights anymore and is probably shot, he should be put out to graze with Rahman and Toney.

    Monte Barret = rubbish.

Gomez, well fair enough he has looked decent.

Igbraminov proved he was a poor heavy when he fought Wlad. The only thing in this fight would be to see if Haye could do better than Wlad but seeing Haye fight a guy who looks like a Geography teacher would not be exciting.

Thompson started in Iron Man contests and by the way he looked against Wlad he has not improved. Probably similar to JD but Thompson has shown he has very little fight in him when facing a dangerous opponent. It would offer Haye a chance of bettering Wlad again though.

Virchis is only rated 6 by the WBO and is not rated by anyone else. This reflects how good he is. Plus he is fighting Gomez soon

Chagaev is probably faking another injury as we speek.

All the contenders at heavy are decent but non really get the pulse racing. This fight is probably as good as any of the fighters you mentioned. Haye can not clean up yet because only three fighters are worth putting effort into fighting.

Half of the fighters on that list(including Povetkin) already have fights lined up. The other seem to be asking for too much money.

    - Dimitrenko is hungry and might give Haye a hard time (but he is fighting Krasniki)
    - Povetkin has the durability to win against Haye. Good boxing skills, a good chin and lots of stamina (wich is a problem for Haye) (but he is fighting Wladi)
    - Chambers had a good fight with Povetkin till gased out. He also beat Brock. His resume reads MUCH better than Chapmans
    - Golota is at least a good name and did good against Molo. Always in for a surprise
    - Barret has good pop in fis fists so it might be an interresting fight.
    - Gomez is a fat lumb of lard but with tons of skill (like Toney). If he can get his lazy ass to gym he might be much of a thread to Haye
    - Ibraminov was afraight of Wlad but besides has some good names on his resume. It would be good to win against such a man.
    - Thompson gave Wlad a hard time in the beginning and has an iron chin. Would be interresting if Haye could do better.
    - Virchis is one of the hardest hitters in nowerdays HW Division. Slow but powerfull. Could be a stepping stone for Haye.
    - Chagaev if not injured was the only one to win against Valuev and hasn´t lost. Good resume

Do some of you guys actually know any boxers or do you just look them all up on Boxrec and come to your conclusions by looking at their record and ranking?

Chapman used to compete in 'toughman' and therefore has no amateur experience. He's got a powerful right hand, a good jab and he's a good athlete but he lacks ability and has very basic skills.
