Audley Harrison doesn't deserve to fight David Haye. He's postured, bragged, boasted, reconstituted himself as a boxer and each time it's the same result: the mother of all let downs.

The evidence is there if you care to look: he hasn't beaten any credible or ranked opponent to date and his lethergy in the ring precedes him.

In his case the saying "a leopard never changes his spots" is fitting. Audley will make all the right sounds - and very convincingly at that. He'll look the part physically but do not be fooled.

His allusions to David to "put em up, put em up" should remind those of us old enough to remember of that quirky lion from the Wizard of Oz who had "no heart." It's clear that there is no wizard waitng at the end of the yellow brick road with that vital organ/ingredient so there can only be a continuation of what has gone before.

Let's be clear, Audley is no coward; he just reperesents - for me - one of the most underwhelming, lazy and uncompetitive professional fighters that I have ever borne witness to. David Haye should under no circumstances fight this guy, even if this is his most lucrative option.

Take a leaf out of Audley's book; sit tight, await the outcome of both Klitchko fights and get a deal done to fight either brother.

Audley needs to earn his stripes in the pro game; at best he's above average domestic level. Yeah, I know he was olympic champion some umpteen years ago, but what has he achieved in the pro ranks...?

David Haye, it's time you backed up your talk or you seriously run the risk of being titled "Audley's *****." Remember in this game your one punch away from glory or oblivion.

    Peace

You don't think his destruction of Danny Williams was a decent win?

Williams was never great, but he was a decent fighter that had never been blasted out of the ring so quickly.

Granted it was a few years ago and Audley has lost to a taxi driver since, but he's managed to work his way slowly back up and he deserves a crack at a world title just as much as anyone the Klits have been fighting over the last 5 years.

Exactly people talk a lot of ****! The Klits were handing out title shots like they were going outa style! Sosnowski anyone? And who had Arreola beaten to get a shot as well?? Infact who has he still even beaten to be anywhere near the top???

Audley for all his failings is an Olympic gold medalist, now that's something. Let the man have his shot. He may well get hammered in to retirement, but if this is his final swan song, let him give it a crack.

Bull**** fight, Haye is not fighting lesser fighter because no one will fight him like Vitaly and Wald. Haye is fighting lesser fighter because he is a coward! Big difference between Wald & Vitali and the coward Haye!

I love it when people compare a 39-year old fighter (Vitali) who is on the verge of retirement and has already secured his legacy at heavyweight to a 29-year-old fighter who fights about 1/2 as frequently and whose fame and reputation at heavy is bullt entirely on the promise that he would take on the best, i.e., the Klitschko.

williams was well past his peak (perhaps even shot) and took that fight on 3 weeks notice. so no, i don't think it was a decent win.

so do you think that win a few years ago against williams warrants a world title shot now, or is it the beating of 3 novice boxers in prizefighter, or is it the last gasp ko of journeyman Michael Sprott

do you really think his recent record matches up against that of any of the klits opponents?

I'm not denying that Audley is a joke. When he went pro 10 years ago I actually thought he would be something sepcial, but he let everyone down over and over again.

But this is boxing. People sometimes get a shot at a title that maybe they don't deserve. So what? Haye might just kill the poor man. All Audley is doing is trying to gatecrash.

    Who wouldn't do the same?

Although true, I think the fact that Audley was boxing with 1 arm after round 3 had a little to do with it :good

Well if you look at both their achievements in BOXING, since Vitali has been a career heavyweight and Haye fought at Cruiser, it's a little unfair to bring up Vitali's resume to Haye's heavyweight only resume. The guy was a unified champ at cruiser, won the major straps and a heavyweight strap, two weight world champion. So on achievement's if Vitali is allowed to fight tomato cans, I am sure Haye is allowed to fight a former Olympic gold medalist! c'mon Perspective dude!
