Hold your indignation for a moment, that that article contains no actual facts. As it stands its just Harrisions promoter trying to drum up a fight.

I just worry Haye's career could go down as a damp squib if he plans to retire fairly soon. It looked so promising coming into the division as the former cruiserweight champion, an exciting fighter with speed and power. He had the world at his feet and he was coming into his prime and had his chance to cement himself as a great fighter.

A lot of that optimism has long since dwindled away now.

Haye is also a complete enigma to me. When he talks about fights, he talks very well about the game. He seems to really love fighting.

But his actual actions suggest something else, a man not overly bothered with what happens especially since he's won a heavyweight title. He doesn't seem overly fussed who it is he fights as long as it suits him and he's ridiculously inactive.

Haye's tasted the fame and glory of being HW champion (we all know he's just a title holder but the public don't) and he doesn't want it to end anytime soon. The Klits are too big a risk for him at this stage and he knows it. He's just trying to maximise his earning potential cos after he fights Wlad he'll just be one of the many HW's who've lost to a Klit. The belt gives him something for now and he doesn't want to let go of it :dead:verysad:twisted:

I wonder what the British public will make of Haye-Audley? :think

I actually could live with the Harrison fight, but I just wish he'd feckin get on with it. If he was fighting 2-3 times a year it'd be grand to take a few defenses against poorer opposition before taking on a big fight against the Klits. 1 fight a year is doin my head in.

Yeah thats really the main problem. People wouldn't be half as concerned by this fight if it was nothing but keep busy fight but it isn't. It's his big fight for the year :-(

****ing fighters these days do my head in fighting once or twice a year.

Still can't believe the way people have turned on Haye.
He fought in April, it's now August, big deal. He could still fight
twice this year. I reckon Adamek or Chageav Nov/Dec and
Vitali next. He doesn't need 3/4 fights a year just big fights.

unfortunatly for us die hard fans on here, this fight really sells well in the uk, even non boxing fans know who audley harrison is, it can be built up well with 'the biggest british heavyweight showdown since blah bla blah, and its an easy nights work for haye in my opinion, i'll be suprised if this goes past 3 rounds.

i doubt haye will bother with the likes of adamek, chagaev, rahman after this. waldo will be stuck with povetkin (6th time lucky) and vitali will have aged a bit more ready for the taking :)

    :rofl

How exactly, he was made a ridiculously generous offer and refused it! Unless you consider that lying to fans and fighting a decent fighter rather than the top fighter you promised to destroy is the actions of a warrior! Kinda undermines the term a bit no?

Hearn said it's the biggest fight in Britain today.
