Maybe mate but, ignoring the fact that people are pissed off because they believed his PR bull****, the situation at the moment is that Haye won his (moneyspinning) belt and made 1 solitary defence. I'd like to see a fight with Wlad or Vit but I understand that its likely that he's going to want to make a couple of defences first.

I just wish the guy was more active because, they way its going, two defences is going to take us until at least this time next year with still no Klit fight.

Goading the Klits was a short route to a heavyweight title shot when he was a contender, now he has his belt to earn from he's backtracking.

Not exactly honourable but there we are....these threads end up at 10+ pages because people thought Haye was different when in reality he wasn't. Time to get over it....;O)

    Gotta be Rahman.

A has-been is better than a never-were, and all that.

They are repulsive choices but at least Audley has a comedy element.

Hearns is pissing millions of Brit boxing fans right in the face when he's saying "there is huge demand for this fight". This is pure sarcasm, I bet when the cameras are off these guys can't stop rubbing their hands and then laughing all the way to the bank.

I can't see how people think this is a big fight for casual fans from Haye's marketability/PR perspective. Harrison is well known amongst casual fans but he is known as a joke to them. The guy who has continually for 10 years said he is going to be world champion and has failed to get any where near a title fight as when it comes down to it he has failed to prove he is anywhere above british title level.

Now Haye is going to give him a title fight and make him one fight away from what Harrison has been publicly slavering shite about for the last 10 years. This will tarnish his reputation with the casual fans no matter how much Sky build it up to be the biggest British fight in decades. They know Harrison will be 39. They know he has failed to get anywhere near a title fight even after telling everybody he will be champ. They know he has been beaten on several occasions by journeymen fighters. They are not stupid, they know when fighters are being fed journeymen and they know Harrison will be a 39yr old journeyman.

Haye may make easy money. But after the fight and in 10 years time when he has retired the casual fans remember will remeber his biggest victory as a KO of Harrison that is not a good legacy.

From being a massive fan of Hayes I will lose a lot of credibility for him and I think a lot of casual fans who were now getting to know him as an exciting fighter will end up (as best case scenario) just knowing him as the man who finally retired a 39 yr old Harrison and beat a very tall guy in a not very exciting fight.

    Interesting view.

But if the fight does take place (and Haye wins) it won't be considered his best win or atleast it shouldn't.
