Audley to Haye - 'I don't want to be your friend anymore. So there.'

In the funniest press release to cross my virtual desk in some time, Audley Harrison announced today he is targeting a bout with long time friend David Haye after 'A Force' was snubbed in his attempt to kick start his career on a Hayemaker promoted show. In fact, I reckon it might be a mickey take so I'll tell you that right now. God, I've just double checked...it's on Big Aud's own website.
'I hear David is looking for a warm up bout after Wladimir decided they over played their hand. The latest I'm hearing from America is David is going to have to wait now and Wladimir is looking at other options.
‘I am happy to step into the ring with David and pay him back after the last sparring session we had where he took liberties after my first lost to Danny Williams. To make it worse, Lennox Lewis had come to see me. David and his sidekick Adam turned up unannounced and tried to blast me out. When people were telling me ‘he's using you' and ‘that was uncalled for', I pushed it aside.
‘When I used to put him on my shows, when no one knew who he was, he was not even required to sell tickets or help promote the show in any way, people said ‘he's using you', but I brushed it aside. When I let down all my friends and brought David as my ringside guest for Tyson versus Francis, ‘he's using you' they said but I ignored it. When I brought David as my private guest to P Diddy's Private Party,' he's using you!' they said. Over and over again I've heard this, but I always thought that I had read David right. I'm awake now and can't really recall when David has really gone out of his way for me.
‘All I wanted was an opportunity to appear on the Ryan Rhodes undercard in March. I'm told, sorry bud, no room for you. He didn't even speak to me; he had Adam speak to me, which was even more insulting.
‘So David, it looks like you have forgotten all the times I've gone out of my way for you, both professionally and personally.
‘If you are still considering a warm up bout before your world title tilt, then I'm sure the British public would love to see you send me into retirement. They might say I am undeserving of a shot at you but who else are you going to fight? You say you want a challenge, well I know you David and I don't think you really think you can walk through me and take me out. I dare you to make this match.'
I can't believe it. That Audley was invited to P Diddy's private party, I mean. That really impresses someone like me. Who next? Michael Sprott knocking back Cristal with Fiddy? Told you it was funny.
Anyway, I'd love to see Haye v Big Aud. I mean it!

    :good:good:good

My view is that this fight should happen, it would be a HUUUUGGGEEEE event. Harrison might actually show up and it would ge the press talking about boxing again. If we can't have Vlad or Vitali yet, make this happen David.

I think this fight needs to happen because it makes a lot of sense and Harrison when he does show up is not a bad fighter, he just needs to sort out his confidence level.

If he is smart, he will attempt to weather the early storm and then put the punches together down the stretch of the fight.

Audley is by far not my favourite fighter but I would like to see him redeem his career against Mr arrogant Haye, good thread...

I don't think contractually Haye can fight someone as poo as Harrison. Setanta want him versus top 10 in one of the 4 orgs!

Its a huge step back from Haye. If harrison wants to fight Haye then he should get himself ranked by the top 10. that means getting of his arse and fighting a ranked opponent. to do that hes going to have to go to germany or the states and fight for small money. do you really think harrison is prepared to do this? in his whole career he has only fought 3 guys that have been world ranked!

also when has harrison ever "shown up"

danny williams had 1 weeks notice before there fight, the next best fight was agaisnt tha brazilian cruiserweight. if harrison had the exact same pro career but no olympic medal and no name, would we be discussing him as a potential haye oppoent????

This just about sums it all up. Harrison is simply looking for one final pay day. He has not done anything in the Pro ranks that justifies a shot at Haye. It would be a mistake for Haye to give Harrison a fight out of nothing but sentiment. There are plenty of other fights for Haye that would achieve more in terms of rankings by the main sanctioning bodies and respect from the fans.

I honestly believe that Harrison has some sort of mental problems somewhere.

He should be banned from the board of control from putting on gloves again.

I seriously think the same

I thought he was just deluded but if you saw his post Rogan fight interview I think it reveals that there are serious mental issue. (I'm not even joking BTW)

I think he seriously needs to consider speaking to someone.

Haye - Aud would do better numbers than Haye - Barrett.

Also, as Jeff mentioned this would get a lot of hype and would put boxing back in the press.

Audley doesn't deseve the fight, hell no, but there is a lot of good could come from making it.

No no no no this is the absolute last thing Haye wants , he could get sucked into the Brit Heavyweight scene , where more **** fights have been produced over the last few years than any division anywhere has a right to. How many time does Harrison have to turn up and paw out a jab for 12 rounds for ****s sake ?

If Haye is dumb enough to take this fight he deserves to get knocked out !!!

If he ever does offically go mad will The Sun be criticised for a "Fraudly Audley goes Fooly" front page? Methinks not...

Audley Harrison is still a bigger item in british boxing than David Haye. Over Christmas i asked one of my mate's, "do you know who David Haye is..?" He said "No"

Audley Harrison on street level, is well known...he is a item.

It will be a good fight to help David Haye's domestic status.
