He definitely hit with snap when before Mayweather had him fighting off his back foot. He buzzed and dropped Lance Whitaker, and if you saw any of his early fights, albeit against limited opposition, he was super fast, aggressive, and swarmed guys out of there in a hurry. That's what he should have tried against Wlad.
We want Haye in the ring with somone we really want to get knocked out. Somone like Briggs would do perfectly.
Sounds like a good matchup, Haye will certainly have to fight someone before he gets title shot and Sultan can punch so we will see if David can take a shot at that weight....I have not seen Haye at Heavy so I don't know how good he is at that weight...it will not be an easy fight, Sultan has heart and can punch a bit and has some speed...good match
I agree!....might have been a replay of the Sanders fight had he fought that way. Your right about him being more explosive pre-Mayweather, he was really exciting to watch back then!
Bad styles matchup for Haye in his first big HW showcase. (First as in since his official jump) You don't go after a southpaw in a showcase. That said, I'd still favor David Haye.
I would love to see Haye against Ibragimov but Haye would probably never pursue this match because he would not look good against Sultan, and there is a very good chance he loses to Sultan.
Sultan is maybe the hardest fighter in the division to look good against. He's quick and often times simply goes in a shell where he's hard to hit and runs away. He wasn't like that early in his career, I dont know why his style changed. The Iggy of the Whitaker fight vs. Haye, now that would be a fight worth watching.
It's too dangerous fight to Haye.I'm afraid, haye get ko'ed, before even real hype is coming on. Someone like Dimitrenko would be good test, before fighting Klitchko. Same size as wlad and some skill's and speed. Everyone has plan how to take Klitchko down, but they never could realise that.
I'm a big Ibragimov fan, but I disagree with you guys that he's a bad matchup for Haye. The recent version of Sultan is best against slower fighters that aren't aggressive and don't put punches together. Haye is fast and would be blitzing Sultan from the start. Haye's strength, the right hand, is the one punch that Ibragimov is most susceptible to. Haye may bring out the old Ibragimov, the one that fought Whitaker, in which case this could be a war. Even with his lack of experience at heavy, I'd have to favor Haye here based on his speed, right hand, and most of all workrate.
