Why it isn't getting over in the U.S.? Well Wlad is at an all time low in terms of popularity in the U.S., his performance against Iggy kind of set him back and two fights outside the country against lackluster opponents doesn't help matters. Haye is also unknown on the largest possible scale of unknown...ness. David Haye has been shown on showtime but not at the most convenient times and against opponents we haven't heard of.

If HBO wasn't handcuffed to Wlad Klitschko at all times, this fight probably doesn't even get shown.

Vlad's fight sell out all over the world. He won the gold medal back in 1996 in Atlanta, GA., superheavyweight division. If Haye would have fought a top ten heavyweight or two perhaps his name would be better known, but he refused to do such. Klitschkos have been on USTV for years, HBO, Showtime, ESPN, etc., and all over the world they sell out. Mayweather can't fill the seats in America, yet I don't hear any complaining about that.

When Lewis/Tyson got close the attention was insane, EVERYONE casuals and none boxing fans were all over it discussing and analyzing. This fight is only a month away and there's not much talk till the recent video of Haye provided by Setanta with absolutely nothing worth mentioning from Wladimir so far.

Still it will be huge but they could do a better job hyping it.

Tyson was the biggest name in boxing all over the world. Tyson had beaten top ten heavyweights with big names. Tyson was awesome!

Outside of Europe, who cares about the Klitschkos? This fight is getting about as much media coverage as you would expect.

Klitschko sells out in america, an he gets great HBO rating, good enough to get two time slots for his fights,,,,,
If hayes took his time, an got some real hype, that comes from beating sold fighters at the heavys, then this fight would be huge, an honestly i think he belives he's got a chance to land one shot on wlad, an if he loses he got a good excuse, he was just a cruiserweight. :hi:

I'd suspect Britain and Europe to be hot on the trail for "Klit-Haye." Since I am on the other side of the Pond, all I know is that the USA is showing very little interest in that proposed match set for June 20..... It'll be televised by regular HBO cable TV...... No added charges will be required, because, nobody in the States will pay them....

Here in the States, David Haye is a NOBODY! Sports fans outside of boxing are clueless about Haye in the States.......

Wladimir Klit is known here in the USA, but I get the feeling that older brother Vitali generates more interest when he fights..... Just my gut feeling there.......

At any rate, I'm picking Wlad Klit to KO Haye within 7 rds........

Give it a little while and everyone will be talking about David Haye once he beats both the Klits :deal

But basically what Ilesey said, its because he is on Setanta which is not a particularly popular sports channel in England and unless you really like your boxing you wont pay the 10quid a month to have it.

What do you have, like four channels in your country, an about 5 top fighters, i guessing it's hayes an not setanta that makes this not that hyped in his small country. Maybe if he wasn't such an *******, maybe people would like him more. :hi:

Most of the people who know him in Britain like him... The problem is not many people know him.

He's done it the hard way himself from the start which is what most fans like about him but the fact is, whether you like it or not, if you're not with Frank Warren these days you don't reach the masses in the UK.

Also, Haye's Setanta deal is a major factor in his lack of popularity as many people don't have the channel whereas the vast majority have Sky Sports. Even when Warren signed his own Setanta deal he made sure Khan wasn't part of it and remained on Sky.

If you're a Sky Sports fighter you get exposure on Sky Sports News, which nearly every household has, and it means you get recognised by all the football/cricket/rugby fans tuning in.

Sky + Warren = Fame and Fortune
