Didn't Haye, who claims to be a good businessman, know those things about Setanta and Sky Sports?

Wow, I always thought you were somewhat of a ****, but thanks for reaffirming just how moronic you can be.

First off, who the **** is "hayes"?? :think

Haye has signed with Setanta but they are **** poor at any sort of promotion - it has **** to do with Haye. If Sky can hype up Amir Khan and sell that guy on PPV in Britain, then I can only imagine what they would do with Haye. :deal

The fault here lies with the media outlets and Setanta have done a poor job in marketing their fighter. Your comments show that you have only recently even heard of Haye because he has been big on these shores for quite some time. He's also done a good job in promoting a fight with Waldo - it's just a shame some of his naive fans are getting their kinckers in a ****ing twist about some of his antics. :rofl

    :wall

As already explained dickhead Setanta is not a major sports channel in England compared to Sky Sports which almost every household in England has. If Haye was with Sky Sports he would be up there with Khan and Hatton in terms of how well known he is in England.

    Simple, comprendre thicko? :finger

Things change. When Haye signed a big money deal with Setanta they were dubbing themselves 'The Home of Boxing', subscriptions were on the up, had several Premier League packages etc. Hence why Warren was doing deals with them and Calzaghe was fighting there. However, now they have lost several Premier League packages to Sky, subscriptions are in freefall and the general public have a poor opinion of the network (especially if you're not a fight fan). When Haye signed the deal I don't think he could've got that kind of money from any other network, it was great business on his part, but unfortunately for him not enough people have the channel and therefore don't get to see much of him.

I don't think that's accurate. Wlad has got a good deal of US press lately, at least as much or more as he ever has before. Any real fan is always going to be his fan, so he can only gain fans from the press. I don't see how that's an "all time low".l

Here's a cool video with Wlad on FoxNews - Just click here..

doesnt help that the BBC and Sky will ignore most sporting events only covered by setanta. No doubt inside sport will be doing an intirguing feature on the GB cycling team the monday after the fight and the fight will be lucky if it gets a mention on the Sky Sports News ticker.

The problem is that while this could be the biggest HW fight in years, nobody knows for sure. Haye is an unknown factor at HW and Wlad regularly stinks out the joint with his performances.

If Haye had taken on a couple of top 10 HW and if Wlad had put on a good show regularly then this would be huge and the hype would be huge.

It could still be a great night for boxing, and if it is, it will mean more great nights to follow. But it could turn out to be either a boring fight or a quick nothing fight that will be forgotten by the majority of people. People know this and therefore nobody is getting carried away.

Two Euros, one's as stiff as Frankenstein and is as exciting as watching paint peel. And the other has gotten more mileage outta his mouth than his mitts. Why should this warrant fanfare?

    What are you talking about?

60.000 Tickets are sold! The fight will take place in a football-stadion, the biggest boxing event since Bubi Scholz in germany.

Wladimir sold out every arena in germany, so what? This is a huge night for boxing.

Huge night for boxing in Germany. And it'll be a big night for people who follow boxing a lot anyway.

But this fight won't get the casual fans excited like Tyson/Holyfield did for the reasons i stated above.

If Holy/Tyson was so a big thing, why didnt they book Yankee Stadium for it?
