The fight is going to be an awful spectacle. Both fighters know they can be taken out with one shot. Wlad has put in boring performances in the past and we all know that he is going to jab, jab, jab, jab. Haye is going to move on the outside and try to land potshots, which will miss most of the time. His main plan is going to be to not get hit with the jab. He thinks he can outbox Wlad from the outside all night. It's going to be Wlad tentatively prodding with the jab. Haye moving away and occasionally attacking and Wlad moving back from the attacks. Haye will probably get the decision because it sets up a mega fight with Vitali. Haye by decision is 9/1 at the moment lads.
I think you're right on the tactics, they'll probably try this from the start but hopefully things will heat up in he later rounds as desperation sinks in
If Haye wants to win he can not let this be another Wladimir "CLINCH"ko performance i.e. he needs to land shots from distance
It most probably will be a tentative affair, cant expect much else though, both have shaky chins they wanna protect from getting touched. Haye wants to be aggressive, but he cant bulldoze his way foward and take the odd lick on the way in, cause of his chin, but he also cant stay outside at the end of Wlad's punches, so he almost has to move and try to pick opportune moments to mount his offense. Wlad knows he has advantages in psychical dimension, and is not going to want to give them up. The emphasis is on Haye to make the fight, cause it feels like its Wlads fight on the outside.
for once i am going to agree with livra, i have a really bad feeling about this fight. I would love to see a war but i just dont see it happening with these two. Also mega fights seem to have a knack for dissappointing
I just hope Haye goes for it. Nobody has gone in to fighting them believing they can win the fight. Oh and good luck getting a decision in Germany
allthough haye clearly won, he has allready had the decision in germany over a champion in valuev...... a black man in germany getting the decision..... if the fight goes to points (which it wont) and haye clearly wins then how can they not give him it....... massive worldwide audience i cant see a dodgy decision taking place..... HAYE K.O RND 4:deal
Wasn't it a split decision? And Jim Watt gave it to Valuev. But his card is always well off. Klit is like a god in Germany a lot bigger draw than Valuev.
If Haye tries the same tactics that he used against Valuev he's no chance of getting a decision. He'll get hit a lot more, and probably stopped. It's up to Haye to go for it and take the fight away from Wlad, who would be more than happy to sit behind his jab for 12 rounds and coast to an easy points win.
i had haye well up and so did everyone i was watching it with......jim watt mate, exactly, clueless **** he is, hes going senile. it wont go to points no chance.
:rofl Anyone who expected a 12 round WAR between two heavyweights with heavy power and suspect chins must be ****ing stupid. Honestly, all the anticipation will be on who get's hurts first, not on when they are going to fight it all out. I don't know WHO expects this to be an actual good fight. Just a good damn knockout.
You can't use the Haye/Valuev fight as an indicator of the judging being fair for a Haye/Klitschko fight. It was clear all involved (WBA, Don King, Sauerland etc) wanted Haye to beat Valuev that night as his marketability had gone. I thought Haye won quite comfortably anyway but there wasn't the usual 'oh it is in Germany' worry. Anyway, I agree with Lirva (shock!) that it could well be incredibly dull fight. But it could also be explosive at any given time. I doubt it'll be a war because neither seem that durable but there could definitely be a few edge of the seat moments and the main attraction of this fight in my opinion is that it's the best two heavyweights out there (bar Vitali). If it's a dull fight then so what, at least it's the top 2 actually fighting each other in a division for a change.
This fight is going to be an anticlimax i can assure u haye if hes lucky will shake wlad somewhere in the late rounds but thats it haye has a disgraceful punch output
