Let's not forget that Universum is half-broke without a TV contract. Winning the purse bid should be no big deal for Haye.

    It's very simple.

If Haye wants to jump the queue and fight for the real heavyweight championship of the world instead of doing it with hard work up the rankings, then he has to accept the fact he is THE CHALLENGER not THE CHAMPION, and if he has to lose a bit of PPV money to make the fight then that is but a small price to pay for a shot at the (formerly) richest prize in sport.

Wlad has been a belt holder for years, and has been the undisputed champion for a good old while. He has earned it the hard way by facing everyone out there with a pulse. Haye has not. But Haye (supposedly) wants to unify the titles after a very short heavyweight career. Great! Then be happy for a 50-50 split, regardless of who brings in the most money, because if you want to fight the best (who doesn't have to fight you) then you have to make a small sacrifice.

And let's not forget Haye became the heavyweight draw that he is by calling out Wlad. He was quite happy with the slave contract before Setanta went bust and he 'hurt' his back.

If Haye wants to make the fight, if he wants to jump the queue, then he needs to be grateful he'll only (only!) make $12 million with a 50-50 split, instead of $14 million by keeping the uk PPV. Yes those numbers are purely guesswork, but they illustrate the point. Haye will make a fortune either way, but he'll only make that kind of money fighting the K bros.

haye was right when he said the only way klitschko gets any publicity is by talking about david haye. any opponent against haye is an exiting fight, not the case with the klitschkos. haye now has the upper hand, the klitschkos need him more than he needs them.

I think you got it all backwards. Every time Haye is mentioned in the press Klitschko is mentioned as well. Haye needs Klitschkos more than ever. He cannot get away with another Harrison-like fight. He will have to step up his level of opposition. His options are to face Klitschkos for big payday or face a top-level opponent and risk getting exposed and losing it all. He may as well have the chops to beat a top-10 heavyweight but that is a big unknown and he stands to lose more than he can gain.

I wonder how his diehard british fans will react if Haye avoids the Vitali offer, yet again, and fights someone else.........

If its a mandatory like Chagaev, he'll get away with it, but anyone other than a mandated fight, I don't see Haye's fans being too pleased with him if he takes on some other schmoe with Vitali trying his best to make a fair/equal fight deal to finally get Haye in the ring.

Yep, where was Haye before he started calling out the Klitschkos at every opportunity? On Setanta making **** money doing 2 for 1 offers on tickets.
Where is now after 2 years of riding the Klitschkos coattails? On Sky ppv charging his fans £15 to watch him beat up geriatrics.

David Haye's heavyweight career to date has been all hype and no substance.

this makes no sense at all

You dont have a clue of the wba decisions

chag is the mandatory if haye wins purse chag will not be allowed to fight in uk cause he has AIDS in the ass

    thats his problem

if chag wants it in germany he has to win a purse bid

the IBF WBA and WBC title are all still seperated at HW

the 3 belt holders need to unify one way or another

HW needs a true undisputed champion

Very true. If Haye fans don't get mad at that then they are very delusional
