This weekend we got to see a little more of Haye in a little more of a difficult fight. He showed us his power his speed and stamina improvements. He hurt and stopped a guy who has not been stopped since the 1990's vs Tua. Haye still has some work to do I'd like to see him jab more hit the body more and work on his finishing. He had Ruiz in real trouble but let him off the hook. He needs to stay calm and just finish the fight. I liken his chances to Sanders. That early explosive attack is very dangerous and if he lands early he can get Wald like Sanders did. Since Sanders no opponent has ever taken it to Wlad like that. But also Haye needs to finish him. Wlad is very dangerous and he lets him off the hook it can be trouble. Ask Peter he had Wlad down but didnt get rid of him and he lost. Also I feel the longer it goes the better chance it is for Wlad to win. Against Vitali I give Haye a smaller chance but with the Sanders comparison Sanders had Vitali buzzed in the first round Vitali keeps his hands low and sometimes leans in Haye would have to land a perfectly timed right and follow up. Vitali has never been down mostly due to a great chin and also the fact nonody can usually hit him more than once in a row. Or he can use his legs like the Valuev fight. Vitali is not what he used to be in the legs and foot work department. If he can get him to move Vitali will never have his feet set plus a history of knee problems. I'm no David Haye fan and I'm a big Klitschko supporter. I get tired of some of the haters and over the top fanboys but I figured its unrealistic to say David has no chance. But I dont think he is ready just yet. He needs a few more improvements. I'd say beating Valuev again and the Chag-Meehan winner would season him a little more and help for a big fight with Wlad or Vitali Agree? Disagree?
I agree he's not ready...i also think he will never really be ready. by the time he navigates through valuev and another boring fight with chag meehan winner vitali will have retired. by haye's own admission he could beat them both right now...so stop screwing around in the minors and step up to the big boys...Haye has an opportunity....talk got him here he has won a few fights now...no more talk no more bs...fight a klitschko or STFU
His talk frustrates me. Haye vs one of the brothers is the Manny Floyd of HWT and like the Manny Floyd fight I keep feeling it may not materialize Vitali wont be around much longer and without a real test I feel Wlad may retire young too
Obviously, Haye will provide an unprecednted challenge to either of the K brothers. He has hand speed, movement , power and is willing to mix it up. Guys like Johnson, Chambers, Chagaev and Igbramov weren't willing to throw caution to the wind, but if you don't press the Klitschko's, they will tee off on you at their leasuire. Seems like Haye might be a bit more willing, and has natural abilities that the aforementioned challengers don't. It remains to be seen if Hayes aggression and throwing series of punches brings him success or gets him knocked the heck out. But at least it may be less painful to watch than the last few Klitschko public target practices.
The only guys who recently went all out against hthe brothers were Lennox Sanders and Areolla Areolla went for Vitali and had a little success and certaintly tested those old legs out. To me Haye has that one punch power and the speed and the no fear approach to maybe get the KO or get KO'd trying. To me it takes bravery with skill and power to beat either Wlad or Vitali and I think with fine tuning Haye may stand a chance.
Haye has very little chance of doing what Sanders did. Wlad totally underestimated him and Sanders had no fear of getting hit, he was a four round fighter but in those four rounds maximized his abilities. Haye is explosive, yes, but Wlad will not underestimate him and prepare for explosive attacs. For Sanders, he didn't even do sparring with southpaws. Haye also still fights nervous, he is not a career HW with a good chin like Sanders. When Haye feels Wlad's power, even if it is just on his guard, I want to see what he does next. His best opponents were Fragomeni, Mormeck, Valuev, Ruiz, nobody anywhere close to Wlad's punching power.
I agree here and I dont really feel he is ready either so I'd prefer some more fights but something tells me they may never meet
I agree with this but if I had to compare Haye to anybody on Wlad and Vitalis records theyd be the comparison. I dont like Haye that much and Im a big Klitschko fan but this is just my take on his chances
James Toney beat up John Ruiz in a much more convincing fashion than Haye did. Haye didn't even stop Ruiz. Ruiz' corner threw the towel. I guess they figured Ruiz was not going to win the fight unless he KO'd Haye. Haye is a great three round fighter at best. Against Wladimir however, he would be OBLITERATED. Wlad is too big, fast, accurate, strong and intelligent for Haye.
