Haye vs "lights out" Toney?

Isn't that exactly what you want in your first fight?

If Khan fought a ****ing name that was durable I'd be ecstatic!

i didn't hear the score at the time. how far was he behind?

he may have been behind on the official cards but he certainly was not being outboxed. he had 1 or 2 bad rounds including the KD, but appeared (imo) to win the other rounds pretty comfortably.

Nah, I'd like a more offensively minded heavyweight. Toney will just collect the cash and try to cute his way to decision loss, even if Haye KOs him you could argue that it was just down to the fact that Toney was at a massive physical disadvantage.

I'd rather see a decent fight than a couple of funny press conferecences.

    Well, what is your suggestion?

Toney is the perfect fight, because he won't be blown out like a few of the names mentioned and at the same time he shouldn't offer a massive one punch threat that endangers his little applecart. Not to mention he's probably one of the more marketable heavies at the moment.

He beat Rahman, remember - and people seem to think thats a worthy fight.

It may be his first legit fight at heavyweight but if Haye gets his way it'll also be his last fight before Wlad. Think about that....;)

toney is not very good preparation for any of the current HW champs.

but he's got to fight someone i suppose.

Rahman and Golota are both MUCH better IMHO. Both name fighters and big heavies with good power. You just seem to want to see fun and games at the pressers??

    It's a factor :p

Rahman might be "big", didn't help him did it? Fact is, Toney has proven himself to be the better heavy at this current stage. It doesn't really look credible for Haye to now skip right over Toney for Rahman

Golota would be a good option

I'm not that bothered who he fights to be honest, I don't judge him by the standards his mouth set like many. It is still his first real fight there, I don't know why people get hysterical about who he might fight. Maskaev and Rahman are in no way better options than Toney though, they will be 3 round wonders.

Egg chins, slow, coming off losses.

I like the Golota option; he's big, and was extremely durable in his last outing and may give Haye a test. His heart was really still in it - his face was a right old mess but he battled on.

I can't think of another active boxer who's beaten as many good fighters as Toney. Pac comes quite close though.

Toneys been a great fighter and fought great fighters but if anyone can tell me how Toney is decent preparation for Wlad then I'd be interested to hear their arguments.

Toneys power isn't that great at heavy.

Just kidding, seems like Rahman may be throwing his hat into the ring..

None of them are decent preparation for Wlad :patsch

This is why he's the best by a decent margin, barring his brother getting back into top form...which seems unlikely

Golota would be about the best stylistic preparation, but still not even close. He's bound to have at least another fight before Wlad anyway, probably 2.

Don't give me the slaphead smilie, Haye should fight a heavy, tall guy who will at least pose some of the problems that Wlad will.

Haye has stated (a lot!!) that its this fight and then Wlad. No more warm ups.
