because Toney at his best was at least 10 times the fighter mouthpiece Haye ever has been or ever will be. Now Toney is old, fat and shot heavy you have to give Haye a chance but no way he stops Toney.
Hayes is getting ridiculously overrated....before the Enzo fight everyone was talking about his loss to old cat Thompson, struggle with Fragomeni, behind against Mormeck and down, serious KD by wee man Lock...then he blows out the equally overhyped Enzo and it seems most folks have fallen for Haye's own hype.
The guhy is nothing special at all and even thoug Toney carries next to no power at heavi it would be no shock to see him shatter Hayes porcelain mandible.

Yes Flint, that's exactly what I mean. According to who they were the 2 best cruisers in the world?

****ing joke if Haye fights Toney. I will be embarrassed for him. Worse than Khan vs Prescott. Nearly.

Some people are getting delusional regarding Haye, almost like they are starting to believe everything he says.

James Toney has never been an easy fight for anyone, and he still ain't. He's still strong, he's still got good defence and chin, he's got enough pop to stun guys and good counterpunching.

I would be impressed if Haye beat him, nevermind knocked him out.

Haye can be a very good heavy weight or he could be a china chinned fraud but that does not make him vs Toney anything but an embarrassment after all the hype he has been spouting about getting a legit opponent. Toney is well past his best and is just living off what he did earlier in his career. This fight stinks.

What a complete load of nonsense - Toney would be a big test for Haye and has a half decent chance of winning the fight. He is still hard to hit and has a chin capable of taking flush shots. He will also be very determined to win to set up another world title shot. Who did you expect???

I agree pretty much on all points.
Punches from strong heavyweights (like Sam Peter) just seem to bounce off of Toney's chin without any apparent effect. No way is Toney a real heavyweight - he only got to this weight class because he has such poor discipline (i.e. fat *******).
However Toney has slowed down so much in recent years - he was never exactly fleet of foot, but now he just seems to stand in front of his opponents. However his punching power at heavyweight is certainly below average.
I'll go for old age and treachery against youth and desire.

haye will have at least 3 fights before he gets to wlad, the contract with setanta is a 4 fight deal with the forth hopefully being a championship fight with wlad and the first 3 top 10 heavys
