Thats a good 1st...um 2nd fight for him at heavyweight......now to go buy tickets

Though I notice on the general forum he is getting a kicking from the haters over this choice:huh I dont get it Monte is ranked and all the other possibilities thrown up were for lack of better word ****, saying that I guess he would be getting it no matter who he had faced

Its a better choice than that unknown character who wanted enough money to come over here to lose

I remeber this guy fought WLAD

what was the official result there?

better than I expected. Barrett has had some bad losses in recent years including getting stopped by Tyson rip-off Cliff Couser, but he looked sharp enough in banging out another hype job in Tye Fields last time. I expect haye to last a couple of rounds more, as long as it takes for Barrett's first clean punch to land.

Its a good fight for Haye to start his assault.

Barrett has won his last three; in his last fight he blew away "prospect" Tye Fields.

Fair play to Haye for taking the fight.

decent fight. haye shot himself in the foot a month ago when he disregarded barrett as a worthy opponent.

he won't get much credit for beating monte from american boxing fans, but thats to be expected until he faces a universally respected top 5 hw (is there one!!??!!)

he'll get slated if he is dropped or hurt by barrett, but i reckon something like that could make the next fight easier to make, than if he just blows monte away.

Decent opponent, no complaints on that score. Now sure whether I want to ship out £60 and take a night bus home at 4am though....

I dont get why people complain about this opponent. The only HWs that are highly regarded are the title holders, the rest of the division is considered **** by many. So he was going to get slated no matter who signed on the dotted line.

I cant complain about Haye with this fight.

Its a toss up in my eyes, if Haye is going anywhere in the division, he will have to look good in this fight.

    Haye in 8

Obviously Barrett has a chance here but i think the main difference here will be quite simple. Haye is used to facing quick fighters back at Cruiserweight. Barrett isn't at all used to fighting someone with the speed of Haye. With Barrett in the past been caught by heavyweights that are alot slower than Haye i don't see Barrett being able to deal with the speed of Haye and this will finish within 2-3 rounds.

    Haye KO.

Monte is a small heavy by todays standards. The guy will probably weigh less than Haye in the ring. Monte CAN punch. He`s seen better days but he has the chin and the punch to upset Hayes applecart. Its going to be interesting to see if Haye has fixed he`s defense.
