About as much as Norton. Most if not all of Haye's opponents rehydrated to 210-215lbs, which is roughly equal to Norton's opponents. On the fight, it could go both ways, but Haye is the more explosive puncher of the two, with 19 KO's out of 21 fights. I'd back him.
Lets wait and see what Haye has at heavyweight before matching him against the likes of Norton. I'm not sure if Haye could have got past British title level at heavy in the '70s.Who's to say he would be any better than a smaller blown up guy like Bunny Johnson, who had a lot more technical skills but couldn't even beat Duane Bobick.
This is not directed at you by the way....But much like Patterson, I think the sterotype of their chins is a little bit (OK a lot) overdone and quite frankly tiresome....A common mantra repeated by, excuse my wording, those ignorant of boxing yet want to sound like they are well schooled. For my money (I am not a betting man, but if i were), I would envision a Norton decision as the most likely scenerio or outcome. A stoppage either way is not something I would rule out, just that I don't find it to be the most likely event.
I dont think either had glass chins but fancy Norton as a better boxer with definitely better stamina but Haye has the explosive power to take Ken out for sure.
I think Haye would win by KO, after all, Norton is pushing 70. Seriously, I think Haye is as overrated by some here as Norton is under-rated by some. Haye, whilst he can punch, is not in my view a puncher in the league of say a Foreman or Shavers. Both have "flaws", Norton could be stopped by Haye, but Haye's flaws are imo more significant. Haye's own chin is not bomb-proof, he hasn't proven that he can fight a long fight at a hard pace, and he doesn't fight often enough, and has just a handful of fights at the weight, and he likes to pose. I also don;t think he is as much of a "fighter" as Norton. The likely scenario for me is that Norton wins on points, or stops Haye in the late rounds.
Norton was the better fighter, but I think Haye hits too hard, and is too explosive here. Norton doesn't have a glass jaw per se, he took plenty from Ali (x3) and Holmes, he just mentally broke down when facing a big hitter. I don't know what it was, but he just froze.
