hey, heres a thought for everyone to consider, in the mean time whilst klitschko fights thompson, why doesnt haye force the fight upon wlad by fightin povetkin!?? povetkin is gonna have to wait till the end of the yr or sept earliest for his shot whilst thompson n wlad get it on. povetkin and haye would b a gr8 and intriguing match-up. same age, 28, povetkin is 6"2, weighs on avg 225 give or take a couple pounds, and has only had 15 fights. whilst haye weighs around 220 and is 6"3 and i know bonin was a bum but he destroyed him and he weighed 230 or somethin. if haye beats povetkin and become the new mandatory!?? or am i wrong, is there like a ruling by the IBF that says you cant fight any1 else except the champ or somethin? YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE.
povetkin's people will not put him anywhere near this sort of bout with their shot at wlad already in the bank.
there wouldn't be enough money in this bout to justify such a stupid move on povetkin and his teams behalf.
might b alot of money if the fight was in the uk and it was seen as an investment - in the assumption that haye would win and get a guarenteed title shot. i.e. pay povetkin more than he's worth using the fight as a means to an end. it seems like goin for sam peter is a waste of time cos every ****in fight at heavyweight is billed as a WBC title eliminator these days!
Povetkin will get more money for fighting Klitschko than for fighting Haye, regardless of where the fight would be.
You took the words right out of my mouth - I was just about to say that Haye will go the WBC route - but then again...... with Vitali hovering in the background you never know! The WBO is tied up until at least the end of this year, ditto the IBF, the WBA is a possible opening at the end of the year - I am not really sure what to suggest for Haye really, other than the obvious - chin everybody.
this wouldn't be as big an attraction in the UK as haye-macca was for instance. haye got around a million for that bout and macca around half that as far as i'm aware. haye would be the main attraction if this bout was in the UK. is that sort of money worth risking your big shot?
I was talking about in the meantime whilst wlas and thompson fight. and i wouldnt b so sure about that. povetkin n wlad would prob b a **** fight that wouldnt generate that much revenue. the brits get behind their heavies cos they dont come along too often so a lot of money is there to b made. obv im talkin bout heavies wit skill and personality that doesnt include the current crop e.g. audley, williams and skelton.
and a wlad povetkin fight would generate more??? and tbh wlad will prob beat povetkin, he's only had 15 fights most notably byrd and chambers. yes byrd who now weighs 175 pounds for christ sake!!
Gosh... Calvin Brock received over a million dollars for fighting Klitschko. I am sure Povetkin would get more than that.
