If this guy thinks he's so good, have him fight Povetkin before he faces Klitschko. Only thing is, he won't take the fight, because Povetkin will beat him. By stoppage.
Seconded. All of David Haye's bleatings are geared towards getting a payday with Wlad before someone like Povetkin plays Sam Peter to Haye's Jeremy Williams.
Exactly. I just don't buy Haye's boasting style. It seems forced, whereas people like Mayweather and Ali I actually believe. I think Haye is good, just not good enough to take out the top guys at heavyweight right away. Povetkin beats Klitschko before Haye beats Klitschko. However, in reality, Klitschko probably beats both.
haye would win, too much talent and povetkin doesnt have the power to ko him with one shot like peters
Very well said, dont. Haye doesn't have the skill or accomplishments to boast like PBF and certainly not like Ali. Haye is good, as you say, but I share your feeling he is not good enough to hang with the top tier of the division, particularly the super heavyweights. They are beyond him and clearly beyond his chin's capacity to hold up.
Ya know there is this thing called a decision win. Its very rare and doesn't happen much but check into it; some good boxers are apparently able to win off of "points", as I believe they call it. And on another note you say Haye has "too much talent" for Povetkin, but the funny thing is that Povetkin has 10X the skill and talent of Haye. Haye just has ridiculous speed and power, which doesn't win fights alone
This depends. Povetkin may not be a one puch guy against first rate opponents, but he has power. He has KO'd some notable opponents line Bostice and Bango, done enough damage to makes Byrd's corner throw the towel, and hit hard enough to make guys like Chambers, Donald, and now Sykes, fight very timidly. His power is good, and he throws a lot of punches. Haye has been dumped a couple of times by Cruisers. The theory Haye's people are selling is that his chin will improve because he will not have to kill himself to make weight. This may very well be the case. Or it may not. As for Haye having too much talent, Povetkin is an Olympic gold medalist who throws 70 punches a round. Its hard to make the case that Haye has more "talent." On the contrary, it would probably be Haye that would have to use his very real power to try and get the KO. Personally, I say that it good to have them both, so lets bring them both along as cahllengers and keep them away from each other until one of them gets a belt.
I'm really curious to see how his chin looks at heavy. Its VERY rare that a chin improves when a guys going up in weight, but it has happened before (Cotto most recently)
And he has a big mouth. Maybe he realizes he's limited and just wants to hype himself now and cash out before he gets knocked out of the picture. He also understands that this is called prizefighting. At Wimbledon or the Indy 500, the winner gets a certain amount of money, regardless of who that winner is. In prizefighting, the less skilled albeit "more of a character" fighter can be paid much more regardless of W/L.. That's where Haye's real talent lies.
No chance at all of this happening...is Povetkin really going to put off a title fight he arguably could've had already if it wasn't for Thompson, to fight Haye? No chance. Povetkin fights Wlad next. If he feels like fighting Haye after that fine, but he will not be anyone's stepping stone to a Wlad fight at this stage.
Povetkins style plays right into the hands of Haye who is a counterpuncher. Open come froward fighters who always get marked up, are fodder for Haye. Povetkin just does not have the style, to beat Haye. Haye mid round stoppage.
