I personal think it wil be a really good fight. People say that john ruiz is a boring fighter but i dont so. he has fough alot of top dogs in there days and has alot of wins over big names. His fights with big nick and chagaev i believe were boring just because there boring as ****. I dont think his is a super great fighter but i think he is good. I watch the big nick fight and chagaev and i think he got robbed or didnt get the break. What kills me on this situtaion is that his getting a title fight and i think the world would rather see Tua fight david haye. we all know about the brutal KO lol. what do u guys think. i know there alot of people on this site that think ruiz is **** but facts r facts and hes a former two champ and has some skills. Hes just been in that garbage WBA division fighting to jokes( hairy man and aids victim) and for the people that hayes performance was boring against Big nick, ur a ****ing moron. Excellent fight haye. the only way to beat that freak is like that. U cant bang with a monster like that. Im so glad haye is champ. We needed so bad. specially so we can get a super fight in 2010 with wlad. wlad will lose no doubt in my mind. What do u guys think in a professional view and dont act like 2 years old on here lol.
If there's going to be any excitement it's up to Haye to bring it, because I don't really see Ruiz going all out. Something people don't realize is that Haye's power is respected. Even Valuev was respecting it and tried to hit Haye without getting too close. If Haye trusts his chin against Ruiz then it could be over in 4-5 rounds, otherwise he probably outboxes Ruiz over 12.
i was thinking 4-5 also. i think is going to make a statemant and destroy ruiz early and easily. i dont haye chin is that bad, not granite but good even to bang it out and win title in two weight classes u know write back steve
I've seen Ruiz live on the undercard, his jab was slow and weak, his punches still got no snap. Against a bum he looked good, but everyone else would've looked better.
Not a chance. He won't knock out Ruiz. Contrary to popular belief, Haye will not be a knockout artist at heavweight, imho. He has power, yes. But it's more shocking, stunning power that is based on his speed. He does not have heavy hands, because he's not a natural heavyweight. If anything, his heavyweight power is similar to that of a young Holyfield's...it is respectable, but not overwhelming. And just like Evander stunned big, strong fighters like Big George Foreman, so too will Haye. But he probably won't knock them out. He just isn't big enough, and most of his weight is phoney weight that comes from bodybuilding, just like Evander's.
You say Ruiz isn't boring??? Well that makes one of you out there. But, as much as dislike the guy, I'll admit he probably has about the best resume of any active HW today... including the Klits. He deserves the shot as much as anyone else. Sure he lost to Valuev and Chagaev,,, but both were pretty close calls... He's a 2 time former champ whose been in with a who's who of top HWs... He has'nt been beaten real desisively for a while... and he appears in good shape right now... so why not? I believe (or hope anyway) Haye will rid the sport of this cancer once and for all with a brutal KO win... But, the fact is, you can never really count Louise out entirely. He finds a way to win ugly even when it seems hopeless. If Haye knocks Louise out cold, he becomes my new favorite HW! Go Hayemaker!
Same here. If Haye knocks that cheater out, he will have performed a service to the sport of boxing, ridding the HW division of a stain on its proud history.
I do my best to ignore alot of John Ruiz fights but I can't think of anyone really stopping him other than David Tua back in 1996. Also I don't really have a problem with David Haye fighting John Ruiz (I actually suggested Chris Arreola fight Ruiz as a tuneup fight before stepping in for a title shot), my problem is that its for a title. John Ruiz has done nothing (other than maybe the argument that he actually beat Valuev twice) to garner a title shot. However back to my initial argument if David Haye could do something impressive and KO Ruiz (something Holyfield, Chagaev, Jones, Valuev, Kirk Johnson, Rahman, Golotta, Jameel McLine, and James Toney failed to do) then it could give Haye more credibility as a heavyweight. Still though I honestly just don't see Haye beating either Klitchshko. Both men are just so tall and have that long jab that it's difficult to go through. If guys like Haye, Arreola, Chagaev, Povetkin had the same physical stature and reach of Wlad or Vitali they might stand a chance.
Do you have any sense at all? He didn't almost KO. He didn't even knock him down. He stunned Valuev. That's all...which means he won a 10-9 round. How that translates into almost knocking someone out...well, I'll leave that to people like you with double-digit IQs.:good
I'd stop short of saying best resume, but I would say he's been in with the best fighters of any active heavyweight (unless you'd count evander as active). But let's take a look at the age and facts of those fights. 1996: David Tua knocked his ass cold in the first round. 1997: actually had to win a split decision over Jimmy Thunder 1998: beat a 40yo Tony Tucker 2000: lost a UD to a 38yo Holyfield 2001: won a UD over a 38/39yo Holyfield (not gonna check bdays specifically) 2001: drew a 39yo Holyfield in one of the most boring fights ive ever seen, I mean really, at the end of that fight I looked at my dad and said "that has to be a draw, neither did a damn thing". 2002: was in a very close fight with Kirk Johnson before winning DQ10 (yes the same Kirk Johnson that Vitali destroyed) 2003: lost to Roy Jones, i mean really, about a year later Tarver KO-ed Jones with one punch and Ruiz couldnt even stagger him 2003: won a UD over Hasim Rahman 2004: won a UD over a completely over the hill Andrew Golotta 2005: LOST to Jamey Toney (was overturned of course but Ruiz did not win that fight) 2006: had to win a SD over McLine (the same McLine Arreola destroyed and the same Arreola Vitali destroyed) and of course the fights with Valuev and Chagaev (i personally thought Ruslan did win and that John probably should have gotten the nod over Valuev both times) Ruiz should be a gatekeeper at this point and he's still landing title shots.
Haye is the most boring fighter I have ever seen in the Valouev fight. All he did was run. He should have lost. Jim Watt was correct.
