Why didn't Haye just accept Warrens £600,000 and fight Matt Skelton, nice big domestic clash, you can't beat them.atsch
whats it gonna prove though its just getting dragged down in Warrens merry go around of silly round robin title fights Skelton would mean nothing to fighting Kilitshko Skelton was just a British circuit fighter who got hand picked as a easy defence for the WBA Champion Haye needed to fight someone highly ranked that and the fact Haye claimed he could get paid twice as much as the £600,000 offer in his next fight
Yeah, 100% correct. It has crossed my mind, whether Haye should fight British opponents, given his trouble finding anyone else. But you've hit the nail on the head there. He should steer well clear.
I think most people rate Matt Skelton as the number 1 heavyweight in Great Britain, his better known to us than either JD Chapman or Kevin Johnson. Haye beats Skelton then you have to say he is Britains number 1 heavy, i would like to see it, just as i would like to have seen Khan v Thaxton/Murray.:bbb
Haye would destroy that lumbering big hairy bear, add the fact haye has said he will never do buisness with sportsnetwork again. I also don't think a warren fighter will go down to well with setanta at the moment
haye thought 600,000 was chump change despite not being anybody at Heavyweight yet. Plus Skelton has Inside fighting which can give Haye problems.
The £600k offer would have had options for five fights after - one of which would prob be a rematch, then a WBO interalphabetty challenge + two defences, then a WBO eliminator which would in turn have options
Haye wants his shot at Wlad. If he engineers that and gets the win, who on Earth is going to say that Matt Skelton's the better boxer?
Skelton would give Haye an harder fight than probably most of the guys Haye has been in contact with recently but unfortunetly this fight means very little outside Britain. Haye needs to stay away from the domestic merry go round.
