Did you just compare David Haye with Ike Ibeabuchi?!? Haye has nowhere near the skill, jaw, punch of a prime Ibeabuchi, and wouldn't last 5 seconds on the inside even with todays David Tua, let alone the 12 rounds Ike stayed in there for.
Tua is so wrong for Haye, Tuas been unphased by punchers at least as powerful and Haye isnt really a boxer whos going to jab Tua at a distance. If Haye isnt in and out real quick then Tua owns him because at short range Tua is fast and lethal. Its not beyond possibility that Haye cant hurt Tua but seeing as hes unlilkely to pile up punishment with frequent jabs and right hands then I see Tua catching him and taking his head off
Terrible, terrible matchup for Haye, who has already said he struggles with short fighters with fast hands. Unlike Fragomeni, Tua can bang with the best, also has the chin to keep him in there and will take Haye out. Haye COULD conceivably use his foot and handspeed to keep away from Tua and who knows, at his age and with Haye's power with the right uppercuts Haye can wing in on a short opponent he could get Tua out of there. But you have to go with what you know, I would say it's 80-20 Tua. Bad matchup for Haye, he'd find it easier against the Klitschkos than Tua.
As much as I applaud Ike on here, Haye has faster feet, hands and better movement. Why the Hell Haye would stand on the inside with Tua I don't know, he's shown now that he CAN resist a tear up. Tua isn't the fighter he once was in terms of speed and precision (Cameron won't change my opinion on that) but he seems more determined and focused than he was in the 90's. as I say, Haye has already said what kinda' fighter causes him problems. Times that with Tua's experience, two-fisted power and finishing abilities and I'd advise Haye to steer well clear of Tua whilst he remains a fringe contender. If Tua gets himself to a Mandatory slot and Haye is forced, well Haye is not the kinda' man to shirk a challenge, but I would say it's not a winnable fight for him.
What are we arguing about you just agreed with what I just said??? LOL!!! most heavyweights get title shots they dont deserve because, well look at the landscape. There's not that much talent in the division. And to say Tua hasnt fought a monte barrett caliber in 6 plus years...Well that claim can be put to rest as Tua knocked Shane Cameron the **** out. He fought a guy that was younger, busier, and had a ranking. :thumbsup
