Haye vs Wlad... Constructive criticism on the fight and Props.

I guess that's just a matter of opinion. I just don't see any more worthy opponents out there at the moment. Haye has generated obscene amounts of cash for both boxers. Money talks in boxing, so for that reason I don't see a future rematch beyond the realms of possibility.

I think that if Haye ever agrees to fight Vitali and manages to beat him then I think things would get more interesting. It could be Wladimir would want to avenge his older brother for a change. After already beating Haye and earning stacks of cash, what would stop him then from wanting to avenge his brothers defeat and earn stacks more cash, this time with terms and a split in Wlad's favour. He'd be mad not to.

But then again thats pure speculation that Haye would even agree to fight Vitali let alone win.

However, I think Haye is a lot better than some give him credit for and if it weren't for Wladimir I am almost certain David would be Undisputed champion by now.

 

While I am critical of Wlad's unwillingness to end the fight, I must say I was very impressed with his ability to see the punches coming from a fast fighter like Haye and always take the half step back to take him out of range. He was never out of his comfort zone and even when tagged with the odd glancing shot knew how to tie up or deflect Haye away to negate any potential difficulties. He seemed in total control and was always at his punching range.

The division is devoid of any real athletic heavyweights with speed and power to contend with Wlad. Haye really was the only one possessing these assets and Wlad proved, speed and power isn't enough to beat him. There isn't a fighter out there with the assets and style to beat Wlad.

Haye impressed with his head movement but was strategically naive. His style of boxing, to move and draw your opponent into a counter was never going to win the fight for him, unless Wlad went back to his old style. He had years to prepare for Wlad and while he has the physical assets to give Wlad problems, his style of boxing is all wrong.

I predicted a 7th round KO for Wlad and he could of acheived it had he wanted to, but chose not to take the risk. Shame the division really needed a good fight at heavy and a clinic ending in a big KO would have gone a long way to stirring some interest back in the division.

I just hope Adamek can at least but up a decent fight and tries to go for Vitali, as there is no way he's going to outpoint him by boxing.
