I am not a Haye hater, nor a Haye lover. Not a Wlad hater nor a Wlad lover. But isn't it ridiculous. Shouldn't Haye first fight about 3/5 top 25 heavyweights before he takes on Wlad?? He only had like 2 fights at heavyweight and those were against not really what you call top heavies. Looks like the Haye team is going for quick cash big risk.
no doubt. it is to soon for haye. i'm not even sure they want the fight just yet anyway. just trying to have a big long build up for when it dies happen.
I think he'll take one more fight while Wlad/ Vit make their defences and then fight for the title. Hayes chin isn't the best so every fight at HW is risky for him and its debatable whether any of the other heavies could help Haye prepare for the Klitschos in any case.
I'd say 2 more fights at HW... (within a year) ... with at least the second fight being vs a top-ten guy. Then bring on Wlad! He can't keep this kind of crazy mega-hype going for 5 more fights... Better to strike while the iron is hot!
It doesn´t matter imo. There´s no bridge to the Klitschkos...Haye could fight anyone in the Top 10 not named Klitschko and noone will pose even remotely the same challenge one of the Klitschkos does.No opponent will make him better prepared for the Klitschkos. The chance of Haye winning stays the same, regardless how often Haye will fight until then...so they might as well fight as soon as possible.
The way I see it, outside of both Klitschkos who is there for Haye to beat that will even validate him as a heavyweight? I mean the divison is so pathetic, that even a win over Barrett looks impressive, and barrett isnt much to speak of at all. outside of the Klitschkos the only other fighter there is would be Sam Peter, I mean James Toney washed up, Rahman well another Klitschko is feasting on that left over. Holyfield, busy with Valuev, Byrd down to Lt Heavy and retired, who else is there really? Ibragimov? whats the point in fighting him? Honestly its an interesting fight at this stage of the divison, if anything it brings some attention, Haye has some pop and is moving up to fight the bigger guys, can he hurt them? I think so, I think Haye is a live guy with Wlad.
Haye was tall cruiser and it might be wise idea to try learn what is to be undersized dude.Of course he cant find any even close that skilled fighter like klitchko's are..
I think Haye deserves more credit for actually being more than willing to test himself against the big boys with relative inexperience. He's taken the quick road all his career and its good to see
Fighting either Klitschko is too early for Haye, not just for getting accustomed or proving himself at heavyweight. Rather, Haye needs a heavyweight fight on HBO or Showtime to generate North American interest in a fight with either Klitschko. Haye has seemingly been set up to have mainstream appeal. If Haye really wants to maximize the opportunity, he needs to get his face out to the American audience as a heavyweight to create a bigger buzz before the fight happens.
